We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.
What This Means for You:
- If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
- If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
- Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.
- Our 2025 light and dark themes were lost, so we are rebuilding them. Light theme is currently available, but work in progress

it's an interesting question. i suspect that lankinen gets pretty much the rest of the games down the stretch, but demko has been practicing again and you sort of think they probably give him a game or two. overworking lankinen and causing a long term issue would be pretty disastrous for us.
Drance talked about this earlier today. If he doesn’t, he’s cooked. Like if you can’t play him against this team of all teams, fundamentally you just do not think he’s going to be an NHL goalie for you
I'm guessing Aman will be the odd one out and we'll run 11F-7D?

- Upgraded to probable for Saturday
- For him not to play, meant he was really hurt
- “Full go”; cleared protocols
- When he got elbowed, he was already dealing with the flu so spotters weren’t sure if his symptoms were concussion or flu related
- Asked if Hughes is at 80% and Tocchet isn’t sure; the way Hughes has been talking, it seems like he’s more than 80%
- Isn’t ever going to feel 100%
- At this time of year, others players on other teams are feeling the exact same way
- Hasn’t had a full team practice in a month and to do what he can do on the ice is amazing
- Rely on him a lot
- Calms the waters, especially for the younger players
- Is a courageous kid
Team Toughness
- Need to be hard on the other team’s best players in response to the treatment Hughes gets
- Have more of a pack mentality
- Maintenance day for both; Hronek has been playing a lot of minutes and felt he should have the day off & Garland is banged up
- Had a lot of moments; Lankinen made a huge save on Kadri that would have made it 4-2
- Pressure the Flames on the PP and gassed them; kept the pressure up
- Pettersson held on to the puck and made a good play, Mancini then hit the net, and Pettersson went down low for the rebound
- Did 3 drills
- Might be a full participant next practice but isn’t 100% sure yet
- Felt pretty good today
- This time of year sucks for injured players because there are less practices; toned down and shortened practices
- Grew up in an era where you would brawl
- Canucks had a couple of players go to the Flames bench and say something
- Canucks needed 2 points and had to remain focused
- If this was October, Canucks’ response might have been different
- Need to get that out of the game; a clean hit is a clean hit and don’t have to jump in on a clean hit
- Kadri just took the hit and kept playing
- Understand that Zary is a young kid and wants to protect his teammate but you can’t hit someone in the head like that
- Best deterrent is heavier fines; has been fined a bunch of times and it hurts the pay cheque
- Chris Lee is a really good referee and admitted that he didn’t see what happened
- Tocchet would have liked to see a review but isn’t blaming Chris Lee
- Will make a decision after practice and let the goalies know who’s playing
- Silovs played well for them in the playoffs and need to give him confidence
- Has really liked their shot volume against since Christmas and that does help the stress on a goalie
- The game is faster now and that maybe causes more stress on goalies
- Thought Lankinen did a hell of a job
- Little unfair to make Lankinen play these three games in a row; he’ll do it

I mostly lurk and don't watch even half the games but not having HFCanucks is almost as if the NHL existed half as much

Canucks desperately need to win a few more games so they can get into the playoffs and be embarrassed losing 4 straight.
It seems obvious they are hoping for Demko to carry them in the playoffs, if he can last that long. At the least he might give Lankinen so time off.
Chicago lost their last three games, the Canucks have lost two of their last three.
StL and Utah lost so they didn't catch the Canucks and Calgary didn't pull away.

Under normal circumstances, Silovs should start this - but given the opportunity to gain some ground in the playoff race, it probably should / will be Lankinen. Which also says something about the Canucks’ confidence in Silovs.
