we need a top 6 winger for this guy, with one of Joseph/Formenton/Brown on the other side

Tkachuk-Norris-Batherson is too good to break up

Joseph looked pretty good on that top line. If we cant get/cant afford to get a top 6 winger then breaking that line up makes the most sense imo

Tkachuk-Norris-Joseph
XXXX-Stutzle-Batherson

Easier to get 1 top 6 winger then 2

Thank you Brendan Gallagher for giving Ottawa Fans the gift they didn’t know they needed - pissed off an uber proud Tim Stutzle

Did Gallagher ever trigger Stutzles pride and compteviness. Unreal

It's been great to see the transition to center and the growth.

Now we just need to find him wingers. Playing him with Batherson on occasion at even strength has been good. But I want to see a full season where he has at least one high talent level guy for the majority of the season.

I appreciate that eventually with Stutzle we should be able to plug and play but asking a 20 year old who just transitioned to center at the NHL level to also lift up guys like Formenton and Brown was a bit much. In a vacuum you'd say he did an okay job. When you put it into context - second year in NHL, 20 years old, transitioned to center partway through season - it was an excellent job by him to breach 50 points.

I love Norris, he's great, probably a lock for 25/year moving forward.

That being said, we've seen Timmy level up and whatever line he's on is the "first" line. Get him a little support (whether that's moving Bath to his wing full time or going out and getting a Fiala/Forsberg/Boeser/Garland/ect) and I'd be willing to bet he goes PPG+ next season.

Wow. His skating, edge work, stick handling, and poise are unreal. He gets me out of my seat all the time - kinda like Havlat used to do back in the day. Star in the making!

I'm in a keeper fantasy league and we're doing a reshuffle this year and can only keep 3 players. I don't think I would have said this a few months ago, but I'm seriously considering keeping Stutzle (McDavid, Gaudreau, Eichel, Jimmy Stu).

It's crazy the progress he's made during the 2nd half of the season.

In April he has 17 points in 12 games for a P/GP average of ... wait for it ...
1.416.
Only 5 players have that over the full season.

Fairly short sample, but ...

30 points in his last 25 games

Some comments on Stutzle (sometimes vs Hughes) in the poll section : :

"Close this. Hughes now and forever"

"Saying it and having it happen are two different things when talking about Stutzle.
Hughes >>>>>> Stutzle
The gap between Hughes and any player on the Sens is massive
."

"As things are right now, Hughes is the best player by far. I don’t give two shits about what Stutzle might project to be. For now, no one on the Sens can carry Hughes’ jock strap."

"Dont think forcing Stuetzle to center is the move but if thats what Ottawa wants, then so be it"

"Thats f***ing hilarious coming from an Ottawa fan whos supposed 3rd overall center couldnt even stick there his rookie year and now has a meansly 43 points this season in 68 games.

Sens fans are so delusional its hilarious, they think their shit dont stink yet what have you f***s ever won in your history?"

These comments were all made in April... ... ... and we're still in April

February :

"Think this one is going to look comical in a few years. Hughes by a big margin."

"Not really... most logical neutral unbiased fans think Hughes will be the best.... It's just fan bases of the other prospects arguing it for the most part."

These comments are most likely just kids in their parent's basement but thinking it could be adults is hilarious. Devils fans on the main boards are on a roll. I guess that's what it does when your team has sucked for 10 years. It's been 5 seasons for us now and it's been quite painful, imagine twice as long.

25 goals would be a letdown for Norris, he has 46 goals in his last 89 games and is only 22 years old playing with other kids and no veteran support

I'm totally up for a 1A/1B scenario. It won't be as good as Crosby/Malkin but it actually gives us a chance to become very competitive.

They are very different players. You have a Stamkos type and a Kane type.

But ultimately it's not so much a stylistic designation as it is a statistical one, and I think both players are capable of putting up #1C numbers.

Stutzle is dazzling and has exquisite exhibitions of skill, but if Norris is producing at the same rate it doesn't really matter.

Obviously Tim is younger and potentially has more room to grow, but Norris has been underestimated at virtually every stage of his career and continues to exceed expectations with every jump.

Maybe target Zadorov in the summer along with Giroux if salary is feasible
Can play LD and RD
Can defend Timmy
Only 27 yo

I did say floor, gives a little wiggle room for that shooting percentage to come down a hair.

If he wants to put up 30+ perennially I'm here for it though

Wasn't trying to knock Norris, I think the way he's progressing he'll be a more than capable 1C on many teams, but the fact he could be the 1B to Tim's 1A will only help this team moving forward.

The Tkachuk & Norris chemistry can not be understated especially when you place Batherson with those two they are unbelievable together. They now need to find two guys who can be as complimentary with Stutzle as the top line is with each other. If it's not going to be Formenton or C. Brown & they end up on the 3rd line with Pinto IMO that could be a pretty good scoring line too.

Joseph has shown in a very limited sample size that he has some untapped offensive upside & speed that could keep up with Stutzle & if they can find a RW to play with & contribute offensively they could create another great line. It's really the only missing piece at forward & they could spend more resources on improving their defence to put up more pts & maybe goaltending, although Forsberg has been great. I think Kelly, Kastelic & Watson next yr could turn into a pretty good 4th line too.

Dear everyone:

Please don’t make main board threads highlighting Stü’s rolling breakthrough’s, successes, projections, or to justify why we are excited as a fanbase, or to compare to other players.

It will be Karlsson 2.0.

What's great is that even if Norris regresses to a 15% shooting percentage, he scores 30+ goals per season. I think he's that good of a shooter and goal scorer to shoot at 15%+ every season

Don't worry I know it was not a knock but really wanted to point out his 22 y/o (ridiculous) goals production. I was also just stating that it's going to be a good a very good problem to have this kind of debate : "Who is our best 1st line center?"

I think Stutzle will be the better producer because of playmaking. Norris the best goal scorer. They complete each other
