Sensible fans always saw him as a 20G 50A type player in his prime.

Sensible fans did not change that projection when he made a fancy assist on that PP that one time.

Sensible fans have not changed that projection during his struggle to score early this season.

This board is like riding a rickety wooden roller coaster full of people you hate.

Jimmy will be fine but sensible fans knew Raymond was the correct pick.

TSN1200 talking about touches for goal scorers. Stuz does so much getting the puck up ice and into the zone, but getting him a player who can give him the puck back in the O-zone is What he needs to get going. Stuz doesn’t seem to get the puck back in dangerous spots ever, he always in the corners or on the boards. He should play with Brady because Brady sucks at getting the puck up ice but once he’s in the O-zone he is an underrated passer and a great playmaker - and of course the puck is usually in the slot or blue paint when Brady is involved and that hats where Stuz needs more touches

Tkachuk - Pinto - Stuz
Formy - Norris - Bath

Very real possibility. Stutzle over Raymond was a no brainer at the time, but Sandy over Drysdale remains to be seen.
I really didn't want to drag up this debate but no, Stützle over Raymond was not a "no brainer". Raymond had the better pedigree and I can promise you Stevie would have picked the same player at 3. Stützle will be a very good player but like I said before the draft, the edge goes to Raymond.

Man if Raymond ends up better than Stutzle and drysdale better than Sanderson I’ll be upset lol

I had Raymond 3 over Stützle, but if he ends up slightly better than Stü that's not a big deal. After watching Stü for the last 70 games I'm confident he'll be a really good player (as long as his development isn't seriously messed with).

Similarly, I had Drysdale over Sanderson but no matter what happens I can't see Dry being THAT much better than Sanderson. He wasn't my pick but Sanderson is likely to be a very good player.

Now...if Sanderson and Stützle both end up busting (or close) and the other two end up being front line players then I'll be right there with you carrying a pitchfork. LOL.

I didn't really have an opinion on Stu, I really wanted Byfield and was fine with our 3rd overall (figured it'd be either Stu or Holtz if we took a forward). But I was very high on Drysdale and was shocked that we didn't take him. I'm fine with Sanderson now and think he might be "the" guy if Chabot's back breaks in the next couple years. I was a bit disappointed with Jarventie and Kleven cuz I wanted JJ Peterka to play with Stu and Mysak cuz I thought he was awesome in the WJ's. Still 2020 is looking to be an exciting draft for us. Loving what we have in Sokolov so far

That's your opinion, but majority of scouts had Stutzle ranked third

I was definitely OK with Stü. I also wanted Byfield and Drysdale. My ideal draft would have been Byfield and Raymond, but neither were really available. I'm happy with what we got at the top of the draft.

I also like Greig to an extent, and I was happy with the Jarventie pick. To me he has the upside to be a 30 goal scorer, something we lack. After that it fell apart for me. Kleven is a typical 2nd round prospect but I would have NEVER given up two seconds(essentially) for a guy who realistically will never be more than a 3rd pairing guy. You can get established but still young enough 2nd pairing guys for that during many offseasons.

And I love Soklov as a person but I didn't like that pick. He's starting to win me over but I think he's still a ways from being an NHL player. Hopefully he gets there. I think we did a mediocre job with that draft but only time will tell.

lol, by all accounts Stevie Y was super high on Stutzle. I think I even read he considered taking him #1 if Detroit ended up winning the pick.

First off I am a huge BT fan, I would love to see Timmy, Norris and Bath for a while. Timmy can't be playing with scrubs and needs to play with scores and play makers.

Is not like we are going to the playoffs this year we.need to be trying new lines. I know DJ is desperate for wins but his lack experimenting holds us back specially on defense.

Stützle has a real bad case of being snake bitten. You know when he scores one, they’re going to all start coming. He’s been our best forward so far, IMO.
