So far he's been all flash no finish, far from being a bigger Bure. If he struggles like this all year then what? Do we accept he's not what we thought he was?

Yep, let's just give up hope when he's no longer a teenager.

Before the season started, we were always going to struggle because of a very big lack of depth. The roster was just 0% "injury proof" and look at what happened. Now every D-man needs to play with Chabot/Zub; every forward needs to play with Batherson/Norris

DOH

It's pretty much like the 2020-21 season but "different", management has no vision.

Curtis Lazar 2.0, too soon?

Lazar was a good prospect but never had anywhere near the same upside. Lazar was a possible 2nd liner but most likely tweener. Just like with Colin White, the problem was with expectations.

It's not every draft that you can find potential bonafide 1st line players all over the first round (it actually never really happens)

A third overall pick that can only produce if cherry picked certain linemates. Interesting timeline...
So at 19 years old most prospects are playing and developing in a place other than the NHL. Yet the Sens have asked Stutzle to learn and grow as a player on a marginally talented team in the hardest league in the world. Basically some more astute posters recognize this fact and suggest that Jimmy could benefit from working with some better players that are more suited to where his game is right now. Your comment would be reasonable if TS was 22/23 years old but certainly at this point in time it's very premature.

Marian Hossa’s stats the first 12 games of his D+2:

2 goals, 3 assists, 5 points.

Ended the season with 15+15 in 60. He’s also in the hall of fame.

Take a deep breath people.
So your saying that Stutzle is going to be a hall of famer after he leaves Ottawa for greener pastures. Sweet, hope we get a decent return for him at least.

Sensible fans always saw him as a 20G 50A type player in his prime.

Sensible fans did not change that projection when he made a fancy assist on that PP that one time.

Sensible fans have not changed that projection during his struggle to score early this season.

This board is like riding a rickety wooden roller coaster full of people you hate.

Tim Stutzle career stats:

65 GP 12 goals 22 assists 34 points

SIXTY FIVE GAMES PLAYED.

Do you know why I am yelling that last part? Because 65 games is less than a full NHL season which is 82 games. He is, under any normal non-pandemic circumstances....still in his rookie season.

Let us wait and see how many goals and points he has by the time he hits the 82 games played mark and then we can re-assess his future.

He has 17 games to score 8 goals or else he is drastically under performing (to some people) but only needs 7 more points to be .5PPG which is pretty damn good for any rookie, let alone one on a piss poor team.

He is an enigma wrapped in a mystery.

He's hitting posts all over the place and missing a few empty net opportunities. It's weird, he's been one of the most impactful players but still having a hard time.

But I'm so stoked about the kind of skill and dominance he's shown at times. If he puts it together, and I think he will, he's going to be an elite player in this league.
