Probably not, to be fair he didn't hate the Stutzle pick but felt Rossi and Perfetti are slam dunks. I do find it funny he gets to say 'the model says it's unlikely he becomes a star' and then after a year and half of NHL hockey he gets to turn around and say 'look the model says he is on the way to becoming a star'.
Or one could simply watch hockey, understand what they see, and know he's on his way to becoming a star.

I just roll my eyes at some of these models

Because the answer is simple. Unless you have a bonafide second pairing that is not anchored by Zaitsev, then you do not put your two best defenseman together; you spread out the talent and come at the opposition in waves.

Imagine next season we are rolling out 45-50 minutes a game of either Sanderson or Chabot on the ice? That is almost an entire game if they each get 22-25 minutes on different pairings.
Because he looks so good and should be elite in couple of years I find Jake on the 2nd pairing is a waste but I understand your position on the waves

If Jake is an elite D in a few years with Norris buzz then it’s Chabot who will be 2nd pairing. I will be ecstatic having Chabot or Sanderson on the ice for 45-50 minutes a game. Both are such great skaters they will Be able to play a lot.

20g plateau hit. This is a significant achievement and important for his development, especially how bad his shooting % was during the start of the season. Keep it up Stu, give management a reason to be concerned about how much you'll cost!

Giving me flashbacks to the Preds who had the luxury of Suter and Weber. Yeah they were on the same pairing, but to be able to have two legitimate #1Dmen on the same roster, can't wait

Slight correction from what I posted on the last game thread:

31 P in 32 games in 2nd half.
Missed April 10 game, (where he picked up 1 A) previously.

In the 2nd half season (starting at game #42, Feb.8.)
Just for comparison:

Norris has 25 points in 23 games; P/GP 1.09
Timmy has 31 points in 32 games; P/GP 0.97
Brady has 29 points in 34 games; P/GP 0.85
Bath has 6 points in 8 games; P/GP 0.75 ( Not bad, considering.)

You weren't alone, and I don't blame anyone, he looked rough defensively as a winger to the point where I started to doubt myself.
It wasn’t the defensive play that worried me. He just hadn’t played center for a loooong time. Even against his peers at the WJC.

That being said the biggest plus with him being at center is him picking the puck up down low in the defensive zone. It’s the best use of his current talents.

You just have to realize he has that rep from teams who are jealous of him.

No kidding. The guy is a rising star and future top 5 player in the game. They gotta come at him early before a legend is born.

It's like the way they did so with Karlsson's defensive game endlessly. Yet now, in retrospect, he's known as this generation's best D hands down.

I also remember googling Gallagher's name to see his stats this year and the first thing that popped up were 5-6 articles from different newspapers on what he said about Stutzle. Disgusting media coverage. Not a single one(save for Bruce's) came out to correct themselves after he was injured a couple of games.

I saw a couple tweets referring to Stutzle's elite puck possession and defensive metrics/numbers in the second half of the season.

Does anyone know where I can get a visualization of those stats? Thanks in advance.

Ottawa, let’s not let Brendan Gallagher and a bunch of self-hating Leaves fans define Timmy to us.

All Leaves fans have daddy issues and Gallagher was holding up a mirror to his own play and career as a diver (he just can’t do it anymore and is lamenting being an impact and attention getter on the ice)
