Ok I agree that this year Norris is at C.
Eventually (some point next year) IF pinto comes in and impresses then I think Norris to RW needs to be considered.

Norris at RW is very unlikely imo. He’s a center through and through, and North American forwards rarely play their off wing because of how the development leagues are run and because of archaic coaching mentalities. You have the occasional Patty Kane but it’s more rare than in Europe/Russia. We’re better off running with Stutle-Norris-Pinto long term. There’s room for all 3 on the PP

Plus if they are down in a game they can load up a line, if they are all producing and scoring its good to have balance.

Long term this team has some pretty great depth and scoring options.

Tkachuk Norris Batherson
Formenton Stutzle Sokolov/Boucher/Jarventie
Greig Pinto C. Brown

Hopefully at some point this season we can see a fully healthy lineup that looks something like this.

Tkachuk Norris Batherson
Formenton Stutzle White
Paul Pinto C. Brown
Sanford Gambrell Watson

I know you said he's from the Buffalo area and is probably happy to play there, but I'm still kind of hoping the Sabres end up flipping Alex Tuch as I think he'd be an excellent fit on the Formenton Stutzle line.

Dear lord I'd freaking love Tuch. Been hollering for him since 2018 playoffs; would be perfect on our RW with Pinto or Stutzle. He's not going anywhere, unfortunately. We'd have to give up Brannstrom+ and perhaps even then.

Please not Tuch. This would make Sens games near unwatchable. I dont have any problem with english pronunciation of German names but Tuch is something else.

Glad to see Tim having lots of success at C.

I was pretty vocal pre draft that he would excel at centre in the NHL. I'm glad its working out because we need an elite C pretty bad

we should run with Stutzle, Norris, Pinto down the middle unless we end up with someone better

The concern I have over this is I'm not very convinced that Stutzle/Norris is a Cup contender #1/2 combo. You compare that to the real contenders in this league and it makes me think we need an upgrade, probably on Norris, if we want to compete with the big boys.

I also think Pinto is too good to be stuck on a 3rd line, but he may end up there by default.

At the same time, not many team has a 19 and 21/22 y/o #1 and #2 center. You gotta let them play and devellop to evaluate if they are good enough. From the "contender" how many were we 100% sure would be good enough when their #1 and #2 were that age. I cannot think of a team aside from Pittsburgh with Crosby and Malkin.

Agreed. I'm a little more pessimistic than most around here, but I feel like we have a reason to be at times lol.

Tuch is a left shot, but Cozens is a right shot with size & while not as fast as Tuch can skate too & could compliment those Stutzle & Formenton, but I doubt Buff moves either anytime soon.

Pinto would also look good at RW with those too & would help Stutzle with draws & defensively, he also has a Norris type shot from the circle. White or Greig could eventually play the 3rd line centre role if we wanted to load up the top two lines.

Id drive Brannstrom the airport my self.

Tuchs a righty but plays both wings seamlessly. He aint going no where.

The trade is really starting to look like a win win. Krebs has played very well, great motor, great skill. Tuchs been a ppg while being very noticable and they get a first rounder.

This division is going to be the gauntlet for a long time. Tampa, Florida, Toronto arent going anywhere. Detroit, Buffalo and Ottawa are all gonna be very competitive soon. Boston has a few more years left. Gonna be hell in Montreal for a while.

On an island
If the prospect of having Stutzle/Norris/Pinto doesn't excite you, I don't know what to tell you.
If they all hit their peaks, which is not too far-fetched, we probably have the best center core in the league.

You have the right to have any opinion that you want. It is a valid concern to have. Will Norris be a goal scorer that is also good on faceoff and defensively( he's ok) or will he become a dominant player all around? He has proved he can scored. But he can't drive his lines as of now.

If Stutzle can become a solid #1, having a 30+ goal scorer has your #2 is great.

I would agree (bolded part) as Buffalo is similar to us in that they are building via young prospects. The principle is correct (get a good young player to play with Stutzle & Formenton), but I don't think Buffalo is a target for this.

Have to see going forward. If we acquire a top 2 line C we can adjust then.
I think Pinto will be fine ..If he shows more than one of the others he should be moved up and we can adjust then.

They are what if problems at this point. I think if Stutzle can emerge as a true middle of the pack 1C.. the rest will fall into place. One of Norris or Pinto has to be a capable 2C.

When ya'll think Stutzle will turn to star C?

I predicted this year he'd start off .5 PPG first half season and go near PPG in last 30. Seems to be ahead of that curve.

I think he's star C in 2 years time. Coming out party being the playoffs next year.

Also, why was Stutzle only credited 1 assist last game? Didn't he have goal and assist? Did Batherson touch it? Isn't it still Stutzle's primary assist off deflection? Wth.

NHL decided that Buffalo D got possession of the puck before scoring on his own goal, so the goal went to Bath as the last one who touched the puck. Pretty dumb.
