That will be a big question for next season, which one between Stutzle & Pinto will be the 2nd line centre? If it's Stutzle they could put Pinto on RW & Formenton on LW & that would make for a pretty good 2nd line. Or they could do what they did before & have Stutzle on LW, Pino at centre & C. Brown on RW who can produce 2nd line numbers. Pinto could certainly help Stutzle with faceoffs & defensive help.

I also don't think Sokolov needs another yr in Belleville, he has had two good yrs there & while he is not the fastest skater he gets where he needs to go & he produces when he does. Formenton has really come into his own this yr & is showing that he could be a very good productive top six player. Anyone else think that JBD is auditioning to play with Chabot full time next season?

Tkachuk - Norris - Batherson
Formenton - Stutzle - Pinto
Paul - White - C. Brown
Sokolov - Kastelic - Watson/Bishop

Chabot - JBD
Sanderson - Zub
Brannstrom - Zaitsev
MDZ - Thomson

Murray - Gustavsson/Sogaard

I think we start creating the end goal of having a 4 line team that can play. I think we go with 3 lines that can score and an energy line with some toughness that can still push the pace.

Brady Norris Bath
KHL Dude Stu Giroux
Formy Pinto Brown
Paul White Watson

If we don’t sign anyone we could go:

2(a):Russ/Stu/Formy
2(b): Socks/Jar Pinto brown

Chabot Zaitsev
Sandy Zub
Holden Bran

Murray
Gus

I think Giroux is a pipe dream & I happen to have a pipe in my hand right now. I think Kuzmenko is more likely depending on where he would actually want to go. IMO they do it internally for the most part & don't add any high profile players, but we shall see.

I would rather see Pinto at 3rd line C and a new player at RW to play with Stutzle and Formenton. White should be 4th line C replacing Kastelic. Too bad we did not retain Duclair.

I am not sure which young D will make the team: JBD or Thomson. Yes JBD appears top be auditioning to play with Chabot. Thomson is in the mix too. Mann said Thomson was ahead of JBD earlier this season.

Zaitsev has a contract so he will be here unless traded, which I doubt will happen unless a playoff bound team is desperate for a vet D due to injury.

I wonder what MDZ did to tick off DJ and Dorion to earn his AHL demotion.

Maybe we will get lucky and trade MDZ for a more useful player.

It might be that Holden is signed for another season.

Tkachuk - Norris - Batherson
Formenton - Stutzle - NEW GUY
Paul - Pinto - C. Brown
Sokolov - White - Watson

Chabot - JBD/Thomson
Sanderson - Zub
Brannstrom - Zaitsev
Holden/MDZ - Thomson/JBD

Kuzmenko fits your projection if they can sign him & he turns out to be as good as people think he can be for that 2nd line RW spot. I'd rather have a bigger & tougher guy on Stutzle's wing, Formenton plays with some grit, but I'd prefer a Pinto or Boucher type with Stutzle. It will be interesting what happens with White, he's kind of the forgotten player on this roster.

Breaking up the top line may not be ideal but I think this could work out really well.

These KHL signings rarely work out. Even if we get Kuz I still think Giroux should be our #1, 2 and 3 priorities. It’s rare you can get a vet like him to a team in our position. If we can play well over the next 3 months I think we have a real shot at him. Philly is a tire fire and I don’t see him signing a really low 1 year contract to chase a cup. 3 x 5M to play here could get it done.

I think at his age he chases a cup, but we'll see.

He's gonna have to work on face offs if he wants to be put out at centre for big draws. Maybe Brady can give him some practice time as someone who seems really good at them for a winger.

Norris I think is the best faceoff guy the Sens have right now, the coach had him out there tonight for several big faceoffs & he won most of them. Pinto is another guy who is also very good at faceoffs as is Tkachuk. The more good faceoff guys they have the better for them & possession time.

He will get better as he gets stronger.

Sky is the limit for him. He’s already so explosive and creative and he’s far from a finished product. When he gets stronger, more comfortable and the game slows down a bit more for him, it’ll either be a 1C or a #1 winger… We’re so lucky to watch him develop every day

At this point they would be crazy to put him back on the wing but completely agree

In a lot of ways the injuries might be a blessing in disguise for the long term future of this organization. Would DJ have ever actually tried Stutzle at center for an extended period of time? Would Formenton have got a legitimate chance to play in the top 6? I personally have my doubts, however it happened and look at how important it is for this team moving forward. It no longer looks like center is a weakness but could possibly even be a strength. It's easy to move a center to wing but not vice versa. Stutzle, Norris, Pinto, White and Greig is some unreal center depth moving forward. I see White as a natural fit to move to wing. Looking forward to his return.

Stutzles game is just going to continue to grow as he gets stronger with more reps. White might be a good fit on the right side as he can take draws on his strong side. When he gets back I'd like to see how he does with Formy and Jimmy. Hopefully at some point this season we can see a fully healthy lineup that looks something like this.

Tkachuk Norris Batherson
Formenton Stutzle White
Paul Pinto C. Brown
Sanford Gambrell Watson

But you’ve got our (future) best center on the third line.
And white on the second which is a huge no.
Eventually at some point we have to start trying Norris at RW where he and his shot should excel. Pinto and stutzle as 1C, 2C and white, gambrell, kastelic in the bottom positions.
I agree that white can slide over to RW as well. Especially when Greig arrives. If white is still around that is.

You can’t tell me

Norris makes no sense on the wing as I said before explained it in my previous post. This is to Finnish the season not forever. Pinto while promising needs reps we don't know what he is. If he continues to improve and shows he earns it sure move him up.

Ok I agree that this year Norris is at C.
Eventually (some point next year) IF pinto comes in and impresses then I think Norris to RW needs to be considered.

Very strong game for Stutzle last night - possibly his best so far. Really like the progress he is showing us lately.
