Lafreniere has been given multiple chances to play with top tier talent like panarin.

Lafrenière has barely even played with Panarin 5on5 in the last 2 years. That's a pretty misleading comment considering he's played with about everyone but not Panarin.

If you look at his most common linemates this season you see right away that he's played over 85% of his 5 on 5 ice time with a combination of:

Julien Gauthier
Filip Chytil
Sammy Blais
Barclay Goodrow
Ryan Strome
Ryan Reaves
Gregg Mckegg

He's played 40 minutes total (14% of his 5 on 5 ice time) with Kreider and Zibanejad, so about 4 games for him and he was playing on his off wing which is definitely not optimal. It just doesn't make much sense for the Rangers to use him on the top 2 lines at the moment since they already have two better LWers in Panarin and Kreider who play on the top 2 lines. He's pretty much asked to play a checking role on the 3rd line.

You make it seem like he's been getting multiple chances with Panarin and not producing which couldn't be further from the truth. He's been playing mostly with bottom 6 players all season long.

If they can’t find a better deployment situation for him they should trade him for a greater need before he loses value.

Ever since he moved to C, I could have sworn that he was actually playing a really strong 2 way game, and even during the season as a whole. I felt he was one of, if not our most engaged forward defensively--especially in his breakouts with the pucks and defensive support. I thought maybe I was being a bit too optimistic until I seen this:

Shows just how impressive Stutzle has been this year because he's played with similar PPG as last year and improved his defense significantly.

Just considering the names on there, it really shows how much Stutzle has improved and there could be serious merit. The point scale system tracks player's defensive contribution across the board and all situations.

Anyone that saw him in WJC didn't see just an offensive dynamo, but someone who literally did everything for Germany including monstrous 2 way and physical game. I think we are going to see a stellar 2 way player real soon for us. If it's at C? Wow, we are going to be extremely fortunate.

Keep him at C. He's making more strides towards becoming a better C in his small sample then he was becoming a better winger in his games as a winger. Not sure if he's improving his hockey IQ and positioning because of the pressure cooker of not having any C's but keep him there and develop him. We need him to become a top 6 C if we're gonna be successful.

Always amuses me how Leon Draisaitl interviews sound like he graduated from the Mike Babcock school of Canadian hockey accents while Stutzle sounds like Schwarzenegger.
Almost couldn’t be more different. Love the end of this one too. What an underrated beast he is.

I remember a young Martin Havlat still producing on the third line behind two better RW's in Daniel Alfredsson and Marian Hossa.

Not sure what will happen this yr when Pinto returns, but it wouldn't surprise me if he is at centre on that 2nd line next season with Stutzle back on LW. Given that Pinto is a right shot they could take turns playing centre & each taking faceoffs on their strong side. Pinto has a pretty good shot similar to Norris from that right circle which Stutzle could set up & vice versa on the other side.

Jimmy should stay at center. It suits his game way better.

The idea is that they would both be playing centre on the same line. When the faceoff is on the left side circle Stutzle takes the face off & plays centre & when the faceoff is on the right side circle Pinto takes the faceoff & plays centre.

It's about having both good young players playing together since they seem to jell together & play well together. C. Brown is the versatile vet player on that line who can play both wing positions with anyone & contribute to the line & the scoring.
