This is essentially what I was originally getting at. Start with 3 duos and I’ll switch them up so it works better.

Tkachuk Stu
Norris Debrincat
Pinto Giroux

Then rotate Formenton, Greig and Joseph around when we need to shake them up.

Go with low priced role players on line 4.

Of course this means no Hamonic or goalie.
I don’t mind doing that, I’m a fan of pairs.
But also changing it up when goes stale.
I’d add Batherson in.

Ok, I was arguing something similar in the offseason before it was known Formenton wasnt going to be around, I figure Joseph with Tkachuk and Norris was solid to finish off last year, Formenton and Stü worked, so adding Batherson would be good, and DeBrincat, Pinto Giroux would really insulate Pinto.

But at the same time, there are games where loading is needed, and I still think a line of Formenton-Pinto -Joseph would be a nightmare to defend against.

That all said, if your just criticizing how he lined them up, I think it misses his overall point that the roster depth is improved without adding.
Just rebutting the comment that you can’t put an 8M player on the 3rd line

Another reason for Dorion to get him signed for like $7million, gives us flexibility to put him on the 3rd lol

21 years old...39 goals and 90 points. I'm super disappointed in this year, but really, if he continues to strengthen his core...what's the ceiling on him points wise? :scared:

To me he's a 35-40 goal, 55-65 assist player. He's dynamite.

Regular top 15 points in the league.

You think he's plateaued as a goal scorer?

Kind of. I think his game will be more of a playmaker moving forward. I think that's his real strength. I bet he has a couple 45 goal seasons but I think our team settles on others who are more one-dimensional to be the trigger on PPs (eg. Norris).

I think he gets better but his goal totals won't necessarily go up.

I can see him flirting with 50 personally. He just needs to get stronger now and he can be unstoppable, but that's also obviously a very lofty number and it's relatively rarely hit.

He's the full package with the shot and the playmaking.

I guess my only concern in terms of goals is with the way this team is constructed he's unlikely to ever have a volume season like Pastrnak or Matthews or Ovechkin where he's pushing 350-500 shots in a season.

He's likely going to be in a situation where he's facilitating for Tkachuk or Norris or Batherson or DeBrincat if we re-sign him.

Not that there's necessarily anything wrong with that but I do wonder what he could put up if he was being facilitated to and hitting ~350 shots.

Maybe as he establishes himself as a center and the team changes over the years it could turn into a Crosby situation where he gets ~50 one year to show he can do it.

Stutzle being a 35-40g-60-75a two way #1C is more than enough to keep me happy. He is pretty much already there.
