Not taking anything away from Norris but Stutzle is the #1C now as far as I am concerned. Norris is quite a bit more complimentary the Stutzle. I don't think any coach is going to play a LW ahead of Tkachuk even if they are proven 40 goal scorers. Giroux also provides a great option as a 1RW now that we did not have before. If DCat is sticking around I think DCat Norris Batherson would be a good upgrade on what we got from Pinto this year as a rookie playing 2C. I also think DCat and Batherson are developing chemistry. We've come a long way from DJ playing White at 1C in his sophomore season.
Norris would actually be a seriously needed defensive conscience on a line with the cat and bath. They could be a solid trio, and all three can score in bundles.

I could see them going back to Tkachuk-Norris-Batherson because it was such an excellent line for them and they had great chemistry together. Then you have DeBrincat-Stutzle-Giroux, which to me on paper has a ton of offensive potential but also really high end defensive potential. Either way, having Norris back in the lineup is going to be a huge shot in the arm for roster maneuvering. His absence was way more impactful on the quality of the season than the average fan probably realizes.

They’ll keep Brady as protection for Stutzle, as some like to run him.

its like when the power rangers all morph into one!

...it's clearly more like when the Constructicons combine to form Devastator! Cmon now! :)

How do you know that Stuetzle is being noticed around the league by other fan bases?

His name is in the title thread on 6 polls on the main board
To be fair, at least 4 of those polls were started by sens fans

This is true. But they're generating a lot of discussion.

Two years ago, the only poll we'd be involved in was worst owner

comes down to a bad decision .. unfortunately its in the Dzone and he is trying to beat players coming out vs .. turning the puck back into safety and live to fight another day/shift/minute

I don't know if it was Stutzle's over exubrance or Sanderson's timidness but he should never defer to Stutzle when there are two forecheckers that deep.

These Stutzle give aways have become a bad habit. There have been a dozen of them over the last two months and several have led to the puck in our net. His confidence has skyrocketed this season and while that's great, it has also led to an inflated sense of ability. He thinks he can dance through/around the entire opposition... sometimes he does it... but sometimes he gets caught,

Young player trying to do WAY too much. He won't make those next year. Trust me. He will not forget about this one tonight

That’ll happen when there is little to no accountability by the coaches.

I don't see the timidness here

I find Sanderson has a tendency to defer at times. The confidence is growing but he doesn’t naturally have that instinct to take over. Stutzle does and it gets him in the trouble at times. Like I said I don’t know who communicated what, I just don’t like the play.

With two forecheckers that deep, I’d rather see Stutzle swing and leave the puck. Have Sanderson step out the opposite side and make a play to Tkachuk up ice. Tkachuk then has the option to hit Stutzle on the first wave or Sanderson on the second to get the entry.

I agree. Obviously an egregious giveaway but I thought it an odd decision to pass to Stutzle in the first place when there were 2 CBJ players that deep.

Do you think that they are not held accountable to themselves (and to their team) as professionals?
I don’t think they are enough personally. Coaches have been on the record as saying the only real power they have is controlling ice time and I don’t see that much, especially with Stutzle. I also don’t think the line is so thin that it would be perceived as crushing one of the young players.

This turnover in overtime was not the least bit surprising. Doubt players’ coaches who are much more successful than DJ would hesitate (see Jon Cooper)

The Cooper benching situation not only didn’t work, but the two teams, and the players being benched had very little in common to the Sens situation and players.

Not really a comparison more a contrast. Like: under totally different circumstances, and for totally different reasons, the coach tried to light a fire with benching, and it didn’t really work.
