This is not factual. If you go back and listen to what certain people that would be in the know have said, their list was as follows:

1- Laf
2- Stu
3- Byfield
4- Raymond
5- Sanderson

Catch any of the Sens scouts at the bar and they would probably tell you.

Of course that is what they will tell you. It makes them look good and theres no way you can see the actual list....

Either Dorion masterminded or fluked his way to ending up with Stutzle and Sanderson, wtvr. What matters is that he got the two best players in the 2020 draft.

I couldn't agree more

These 2 players are the heart and soul of this team!

Everyone else needs to fall in line behind them

I don't mind Tkachuk being the Captain but I always felt it should've been Stutzle

It feels like a Mackinnon and Landeskog type situation to me

The point is that they are both bad 5on5 with Batherson being even worst, especially this year. DeBrincat has been pretty bad himself, it's it has gone unnoticed because of you know who......... BATHERSON

Us being the worst 5on5 team is majorly Batherson's, Tkachuk's and DeBrincat's fault, as far as the forwards are concerned
I don't agree Stü would have been a better choice for captain. Not arguing stü is the better, more talented player with a higher ceiling in points but Tkaptain has shown many times this year that he can stand up for the team when needed, not being afraid to fight the biggest player on the opposing team if needed.

I love Stü but bt7 is the right choice for captain and it is not close in my opinion..

I was told from my source it was ;

1. Laf
2. Tim
3. By field
4. Sanderson
5. Raymond
6. Quinn

That was our list

There was certainly some debate between him and Byfield but I don't recall anything coming out saying we had Stu ahead of Byfield. I could be forgetting though.

If our scouts were completely sold on Stu heading into that draft, all the more credit to them.

@bert and I had told everyone on the Sens board well before the draft we had Tim at #2

we will never know who the team had ahead of the other. Anyone who pretends they know is lying.
That's not true some people have real connections to the team. Just because you don't doesn't mean others don't as well. No need to get all wound up about it either.

Such a predictable response.

I heard several times before the draft lottery that year that Detroit had Stutzle rated #1.

I certainly trust Steve Yzerman, and he was right. Wings got screwed by that lottery.

This sounds about right, but I was told they would have gone with Raymond as RW depth was pretty shallow. Could be wrong though. I just know for 100% sure Timmy was #2.

The sens got screwed too. They actually had a much higher percentage of getting first than anyone and they ended up with 3rd and 5th. Ottawa has been screwed just as bad as Detroit has by this draft lottery.

His list is the correct one. Only thing im not 100 percent on is if they had Quinn or Raymond in the 5 spot but that is definitely the top 6.

obviously happy with Sanderson but don't think you can go wrong with Raymond either

dude is gonna be good. That draft is solid. Still think Laf can be better in the right situation

He’s amazing. Some moments he reminds me of Hossa, others Forsberg. Will be fascinating to watch him carve his path. Hope he stays hungry and the passion burns bright.

Two of my favourites right there! If he can operate at the level of those two HOF's we are in for a treat.

His goal scoring ability has been the biggest revelation for me this season. Scoring in different ways and really burying his low blocker shot now.

Being a shooting threat along with his speed really opens up his passing options which he can execute at a high rate.

Also liking his zone entries where he backs off the defenders and then curls back and finds the late man. Last year and earlier this season he would often get trapped on the boards when he stopped up.

Sometimes Bure, sometimes Havlat. Dont see Forsberg at all.

It's not on display all that often but he's surprisingly strong on the puck sometimes. I see Forsberg-lite when he manages to come out of corners with the puck. His defensive game is starting to trend to towards Foppa's as well.

Definitely has some different elements to his game that can be reminiscent of some of the greats but I think he'll just end up as a really unique player for us. He's been amazing.

Those games where he plays mad, cranks up the physical play, and demands the puck remind me of Forsberg. He’s obviously not as strong but at Stützle’s age Forsberg was still in the Swedish league and he’s still got development left.

To each their own.
