I moved from section 105 to 210 row 1..from $132 to $150. As you said, no waitress svc, no cluib access and a croswded concourse. I find the TV and the glass to be distractions as well. Legroom is not as great as they made it out to be. I wasn't going to renew at $150 let alone $165. Let them sell these to corporations. View is like watching from TV but my old 105s were much closer to the action and more fun to be at the game imo.

My perspective.

I have a friend who sits in section 105 (I believe he pays around $165?). I've seen quite a number of games with him. The view is great if watching the nearer goal. Not so great seeing the goal further away (I have to wait for the roar from the crowd to determine that a goal was scored). Yes, they have waitress service which sometimes becomes an issue when he/she walks up or down the stairs. The lower concourse? much, much better than upstairs.

My seats upstairs are in row 2 section 210 (basically on the blue line). A much better view of the entire game than downstairs. The ice is brighter, I can now see the corners, and have visibility of the entire ice surface. At the current prices I would rather have row 2 upstairs versus section 105 downstairs.

However, when addressing the issue of Row 1 specifically, I would say it's probably a push with 105 depending on ones likes and dislikes but would defer to anyone else who says otherwise.

For those looking to move upstairs or upgrade/dwongrade, I think there will be plenty of seats to do so for next season. We keep waiting fir the "real" team to show up but folks, this is the real team. A team that can't score - just like last season's except we blocked a million shots, King stood on his head and we got lucky winning 2 game 7s.

This is a mediocre team charging over-the-top dollars. There will be a semi-mass exodus next season if we don't make the playoffs and win a couple of rounds. I've been a STH since 1993, tickets were not always this easy to move when the team is uninspired (and prices were no where near as high as today).

+1. That is the risk. I believe that MSG is starting to push the envelope on pricing. In 1993 I was paying around $27 per. Next year $100.

I have 2 seats in section 115, row 15 and face value next year is $136 per ticket.
I also have 4 in section 220, Row 1 and face value next year is $135 per ticket.

Pros of section 115:
Much closer to the ice
Better resale value.

Cons of section 115:
Little leg room, I'm 5'-10" and knees touch the back of the seats in front of you.
People in front of you block your view when standing up and entering and exiting seats.

Pros of section 220:
Great sight-lines to see the whole ice.
Lots of leg room.
TV for replays.

Cons of Section 220:
Huge price difference compared to 2nd row.
Further from the action.
You are looking partially through the low glass in front of you.
Resale value especially compared to the 2nd row.

Since there is only a $1 difference between my 115 lower level and 220 row 1 tickets for next year, I am having trouble deciding whether I should change my 220 section seats to lower level.
This has to do mostly with the resale value for the games I can't attend.

I personally feel that with the mediocre team they have this year, coming out of a lockout, the prices should have not been raised at all. Thank you fans for coming back after the lockout I know that Dolan wanted to play but still not a way to appreciate the fans, not only that but no 10% discount for renewing early, why would I renew early now with nothing to show for it. Here take my money and get interest on it, while giving me nothing back. I am thinking next year might be my last year as a season ticket holder after over 24 years. Prices are to high now and well after next season we can look to pay those ridiculous prices for 3 pre-season games as well, those games should be free.

+1. Couldn't have said it better. Even the Leafs gave their STHs the home opener for free. Dolan did nothing for us. They will monetize every little bit of success they have. Today the upper bowl only has about 5 or 6 price points. You can bet that there will be double that number if the team has some success. Corners 209 and 226 will fetch a few more bucks. Let's charge more for the end we shoot 2x. Let's do row pricing, etc etc. the seating chart will have more colors than a roll oflifesaver.

Nicely put. That low glass is really annoying. I typically lean forward to see over the glass. And the legroom in the lower bowl is ridiculous. It's 6/half dozen but resale value maybe the deciding factor for me. Doesn't help that SH lumps rows 1 and 2 together as one Gallery category when there will be a $65 price difference in my case.

What happens if the Rangers get in as the 8th seed and Lundqvist gets hot and they go on to win the Stanley Cup(I think this has happened before).
I also recall a team from New York winning the Presidents Cup then having an off year and not making the playoffs next year but still having their key parts in place. That team ended a 54 year curse the year after not making the playoffs!
This team is not as bad as they have been playing so I don,t see a mass exodus of STH,s leaving
Think Positive

I shudder to think how much we season ticket holders are paying per goal. I don't see how I can keep my row 1 upper pair when they cost $53 a piece more than my seats in row 2. I'd rather have my three in row 2 for $159 less.

On opening night we were sitting in our row 1 gallery seats for the 1st time.
My wife who is 5'-2" had to lean forward to get a proper view. Someone in the 2nd row complained so I asked my wife to sit back so they could see. I feel she shouldn't have to sit back because of the poor design placement of the glass in the redesigned upper level.

I also noticed the difference in the fan base in the Gallery Seats. Before this year I had been used to sitting in the lower seats where for the most part the fans are more respectful of other fans.

The Gallery seats are more intertwined with the former 300 and 400 level fans. In my section there are several people that are screaming at the players the entire game. I am just as vocal as the next person but I pick my spots. They don't shut up for 1 second. it does detract from the enjoyment of the game.
I don't know if it's just my section or the upper level as a whole.

If it makes you feel better, I am paying more per goal with my gallery row 1 center ice seats. Whoopee..keep those row 2s as long as the gap between row 1 stays around like they are now. The resale value comes at the expense of he row 1s.

The season we won the Cup, I was in 329 row J..$23. Next season they went up to $26. Reasonable after winning the cup. But in 18 years, the prices tripled without even making it to the Finals.

To the guy who keeps writing that we will be contending for years to come and demand will always be there, What is he basing that on? We've won one Cup in 70+ years. Missed the playoffs for 6 or 7 years straight. We've only been to the finals 2 times in the last 4 decades. We can't score. This is a bad team. Ticket prices are sky high and are among the highest in the NHL. What's he smoking? Maybe he just works for MSG.

I agree with what you're saying but obviously people like you and me keep on renewing year after year no matter how bad the team is and how much they raise the prices.
I have had season tickets for 32 years, since I am 21 years old.
It is just in my blood and my wife and children also like to go. Recently I have thought about giving them up but I just haven't been able to do it yet, It's sort of like an addict trying to give up drugs, very hard to do. Like some many other people I just go to less games and sell more to offset the cost.
I have a feeling there are many people that do the same and that is why the renewal rate is so high.
I also feel it;'s so frustrating that we are paying the price for the horrible renovation that they just did. If we all did our jobs as poorly as the Architect that planned the renovation we would have been fired. Sorry for rambling on but I just needed to vent. Based upon the number of responses to this thread a lot of people feel the same way.

No need to be sorry. Just venting and being realistic in describing the team's peformance, pricing and seating situations. I'm not giving up on the team either. I just don't like people saying how great this team is and will be for years to come, etc etc. That's not the truth.

Thanks for posting the pricing chart.
I noticed there isn't a category called Gallery 1st row corner. I have those seats and they are the same price as Gallery 1st row goal. I guess goal and corner are the same price.

They are really hurting the season ticket holder's ability to sell their Gallery 1st row seats at any sort of premium by also calling the 2nd row Gallery seats. The price difference is crazy.

If they would let me I would downgrade to 2nd row but I doubt that would happen.

Those individual ticket prices are bs anyway. I've seen tickets in the upper 200's center vary in price by $20 depending on the game.

Yeah those are bogus. They do dynamic game pricing anyway. Not sure what GG's point was but if it's overpriced at the ST prices, all it means is that they are even more overpriced at the individual game levels. Doesn't mean anything when the team really goes south. Even today, you can get tix at the higher price point lower level for the pens game on TM as example. No matter how you cut it, the seats are over the top IMO.

Corner gallery seats are indeed the same as Gallery Goal.

The 2nd row gallery seats also have the same additional legroom as the first row gallery seats. Granted the front row seats have the personal TVs and nobody in front of them...but whether that's worth $53 more is subjective. To me it's not. I'd rather have seats in row 3 or 4 than row 1....I just don't see the value.

But no worries, in a year or so there will be a new price point "gallery corner" when MSG need to make their numbers for shareholders.

Your probably right about that. That's why I think it might be a better value to keep my section 115, row 15 tickets and change my 4 in gallery row 1 to lower level. At a $1 difference per seat I think the lower level seats are easier to sell for a premium.

Amazing for such a lousy team. No wonder Dolan and Sather do not give a ****. They are laughing at You.

Lol..I was laughing too. I want some of the stuff he was smoking. Seriously, only someone that works for MSG can write something like that. That's something my Rep would say to me.
