So that storm system that is going to roll in this afternoon is going to bring in frigid air on the back side, Highs tomorrow in the 50's, lows in the teens.

In Cheyenne Wyoming, temps dropped from 43 to 3..........in one half hour!!! That's amazing.

Looking fwd to some pond hockey early next week.

Ok , this is gettig way out of hand here.
Last night we had severe cold warnings in effect.
Recommemed to stay inside unless you absolutely had to go somewhere .
It was -63 F (-53 C ) with the windchill last night ….
I have to work outdoors most of the time for work.
I am a gas utility operator . I had a 3 calls where peoples gas meter stopped working = their furnace stops working….
I am not exaggerating when I say that any exposed skin starts to feel like it’s burnig after about 1 minute of nejg outside. The wind was so bad / cold that I could only work for about 2 minutes maximum before I had to go back to my truck to warm up.
I had my thermal leggings on , thermal bib pants , winter parka with thermal underwear top and bottom , toque , mittens (gloves are useless when that cold ) and a beleclava or however you spell it ( covers your face , only opemeig is for your eyes . I have boots that are good for -35 . If you wear thermal little booties then the boots , your feet are fine unless you have to stand sill and you are standing on ice.

I just got back from Hawaii and this is what I had to look forward to on my first day back at work lol.
And to make things extra awesome , my co-worker has been off “sick” ( started out with foot “injury “ , then a cold , then ?? ) for 3 months now. I am the only operator left where other guys took off for holidays . So essentially it’s just me to cover an area that covers 150 square miles and 7500 customers. If one of our stations freezes up , I’m essentially screwed where it would effect up to 1500 customers. They would be without heat if that happened . No pressure. So essentially I do rounds and monitor my gas pressures and inject methanol into the pipeline if it looks like the pressure is dropping due to freezing / hydrates.

Hang in there. Know that your work is keeping a bunch of kids safe. Get some of those battery warning things for your boots and mittens

Damn, that sucks. Stay safe out there.

As someone with natural gas heating myself, I sincerely appreciate what you do.

Merry Christmas, you little shits.

Another year has passed hanging out with the only Devils fans I know.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays. So glad I can commiserate when our team sucks and share the joy when we win with you guys.

It's a real fun part of my life to which I dedicate way too much time and emotion.

LGD. Here's to goalie debates and watching this place blow up when we win the Cup.

It's 43 degrees here, which is absurdly low for this time of year. Especially during the daytime hours.

I wanna say this is the coldest Christmas I've had here, but there's been some close to this.

I'd come to visit before I moved here and it was usually warmer than this those years too.

Average high and low for today is 72/55.

Last year on Christmas it was like 77 degrees.

It went damn near freezing last night, but probably not quite freezing.

I think the lowest I saw over here was 24 degrees and it was below freezing for thr better part of three days which I can’t say I’ve ever seen around Christmas although I do remember one year there was a light snow on Christmas which was nice.
