I think the lowest I saw over here was 24 degrees and it was below freezing for thr better part of three days which I can’t say I’ve ever seen around Christmas although I do remember one year there was a light snow on Christmas which was nice.
I'm not sure I've ever had any accumulating snow here.

I definitely haven't since I've lived here or visited here, but I do know there was the 1989 snowfall in Jacksonville (which is WAAAYYYYYYYYYY north of here) and I think there was a snowfall in Florida in 1977.

I think Tampa may have gotten some accumulation during the 1977 snowfall.

Today was actually largely reminiscent of an average Christmas day in Jersey. I know it's much colder there this Christmas day, which is part of this nasty cold front, which I know probably came your way before it got here. I think it came through Texas and Tennessee and all that (which got MUCH colder than here) and all that a couple days before it got here.

And then I literally have to dress 10 pounds heavier which makes my walks more grueling.

I rode my bicycle about 10 miles a day each day while the weather came through. There is a dramatic difference once it gets to about 35 degrees. It just really takes a lot more out of you and feels brutal on your face.

Holy f*** it was cold the last few days. Can’t believe I used to surf during the winter all the time. Coldest water temp I’ve been out in was 36 degrees. Too old for that stuff now.

I remember getting wrecked on a close out and my wetsuit ran up my leg, felt like a thousand needles stabbing me, ouch.

I walked 9.6 miles today and 10 yesterday. Wore my big leather jacket, which doesn't get broken out very much down here. AND with a hoodie under it and the hood up over my head. And those miles are all actual miles walked, not my with my phone in my pocket while I'm at work, which I didn't have in my pocket when I stopped into work the last two days.

I'll get over 10 again tonight when I take my little night cap lap around 10:00-10:30.

The first walk this morning felt awful, but I felt much better on the evening walk,

Usually I try to walk half of that in a day, So, say 4.5 miles? But I've been slacking on my walking badly lately, only going out for my night cap lap or two haha. So I did 4 days of my normal walking in 2. So that way when I'm slacking off later in the week I've already done most of it in the last two days.

A little bored with no hockey on (I don't do football), but I have my step brother and his family visiting for the week, so that's something to do for the next week or so.

Hopefully you enjoy the family time. I am going to have all three boys and a couple of my oldest son’s best friends who we have known for years and that should be fun.

It got down to 39 degrees in Everglade City FL last night. Had to abandon the Christmas day in the back county thing I had planned. Hopefully I'll get another chance in a couple of days.

I don't really have clothes for this weather. It's brutal...40 degrees on the water with 15 mph wind out of the North feels like hell...I have seriously been warmer in the middle of January fishing upstate NY lake Ontario tributaries for steelhead.

Watching my little guy unwrap presents (poorly) and play with his new toys (exuberantly) was really special this Christmas.

This time last year, he was a total potato and we weren't sure if he could even see the lights on the tree. Now he's almost walking, smiling excitedly, and making happy baby noises. Crazy how fast they grow.

I used to think it was something old ppl said when they say the "older you get the faster it goes" but it's true. I remember my kids first Christmases like they were yesterday and this was one's 9th and ones 5th.

Dude…. This was the 7th and 4th (almost 5) for my two and it just gets better between what your experiencing and mine. Although, this was the first year where my 7 year old started questioning Santa. He asked if I believed and I asked him why and he said it was because a few kids at school told him they don’t believe. My wife and I thought we had a few more years before this but we got the jolt of those questions and realized that era may be ending soon…. Damn, i turned that sad real quick. Enjoy the little one growing up and getting more into the season.

Me too 100%. I think I’ve figured it out that you get so “busy” with life and all the responsibilities that it makes time feel like it’s moving faster. I swear at least half the days of the year seem like groundhogs day.

I hear that, Thanksgiving seems like last weekend and now Christmas is done.

No back county trip this time. Way too cold. Freaking fish were dieing from the cold. Really sad to watch fish belly up from the cold water temps.

Just a bottle of rum to make up for it.

Where are you that the fish died just from cold? Most places thr fish are exposed to seasonal changes I would think?
In the everglades at the very tip of Florida...many tropical species just can't handle the cold. Snook for one start to die if the water gets below 55 degrees. In 2010 there was a freeze that pretty much crushed the snook population...

But in south Florida there are all kinds of invasive species... like fish tank species that just can't take the cold. They typically die first when the water temps drop below 60-65
