tomorrow (monday) is the last day before season is done on the short course here. 30 bucks.....

the range will still be open ...80 odd balls for 15 bucks..... but its not the same.

im tempted to hit one last round......but i wont.....go out on a high note!

but i will hit the range in the next couple of weeks just to get the f*** out for a bit......7 minute drive.
I'm still very new to golf, but as I get older it seems like something more and more interesting - I'm still working on getting my drives straight, but would eventually like to learn more and get on on a real course

Has anyone been to a boxing night? On Saturday its Helenius vs. Wilder at Barclays Center. Ive never seen live boxing but since im in the city and a Finn is challenging Wilder, i thought maybe i should go.

Ive understood theres like 3 other fights before the main event. Around what time is the main fight usually? Do people often skip the prior fights and only come see the main fight? Or how does it go? Watching boxing for 6 hours straight alone doesnt sound too tempting to me...

My only suggestion when it comes to ufc/boxing live is try to sit as close as possible or the first like 10 rows or so of the lower level in the center sections. I love the UFC but unless I get a deal I won't go when they come around here. If you're gonna sit in the rafters you might as well just watch from home or at a bar showing it instead. It's just not like other sports where you can better angles from further up. You wanna be close the action and hear the punches connect.

Well i was going to go for the rafters option but then... my colleague in Finland connected me with his Finnish friend who also works at our company in NYC. I heard he is a sports guy so i asked the dude, who i have never even met, if he is going to the match.

He said yes and apparently his friend bailed on him leaving him with an unused $190 ticket that he was willing to sell me for $150.

So, get to go there now to okayish seats and with a maybe-a-friend. Either itll be great or mega awkward

I have such a love hate relationship with the game. I'm at a place where, without more time to practice, I'm probably not getting much better. I'm about an 8 handicap and some days I'm competent and other days it's like I've never picked up a club.

I got 9 holes in this afternoon and man, I was sinking putts from everywhere.

My uncle is big into golf so I think sometime this winter I'm gonna ask him to teach me some basics before he gets too old to get out there

Has anyone had to fly with a cat before? I came down to Florida a few days ago and the second I arrive at my beach cottage, this giant cat walks up the front door with me, and proceeds to make himself feel at home. This guy is massive, too. Probably 18-20 pounds. I honestly don't want to leave him here, but I am not sure he'll even fit under a seat. Can I buy another seat?

Lol, he won't leave. He's acting like a human. I've had strays come around before, but I think he was someone's pet and they left from the hurricane. I just feel bad for him, he's loving the attention.

I can accept that. There are some days that you would think I'm a 30 handicap though. It just kinda comes and goes.
I know zero about golf but know a lot about archery...when it comes and goes in archery it's always form issues... usually an inconsistency with one or more elements of the shot.

We alleviate some of those inconsistencies by breaking down each motion into a "shot sequence"...grip, draw, anchor, transfer/back tension, aim, release, follow through, conclusion.... Then practicing individual elements without a target. So when under pressure or in tournament conditions your only concern is hitting each element in rhythm like a choreographed dance. It does wonders for eliminating/reducing tournament stress and improving consistency.

It also improves the efficiency of your practice time... because during practice you're not just willy-nilly shooting arrows, your working on specific elements and timing.

I am told there are a lot of similarities in golf?

On that topic, the Cranford Hotel has a duck breast that's just absolutely fantastic.
I am finicky about duck dishes. Usually they are either too fatty or they've overdone it to render out enough fat. It's almost like grilling a lean steak. You only have a thirty second window to get it off the heat. With duck there is that fine line on too fatty and too dry. When it hits it is great though.

That duck doesn't look like it's made of wood.
Ironically...I'm pretty sure its a Wood Duck....EDIT Nevermind I misread...I thought you said it DID look like it was made of wood 😆

if you say so. None of the ducks in those pictures look like they are made of wood.
