I made some very harsh posts about some unknown people in my neighborhood (I think they are a couple blocks over) on New Years of this year. How I may or may not wanted to inflict severe pain on.

Because they were blowing off fireworks almost half hourly until maybe close to 4:00 AM. They were just blowing them off constantly until about 1:00 AM. Then they stopped but would blow off a few over the next hour or so. Then I figured they fell asleep but after a half hour a few more went off consecutively. And I think they may have went 40 minutes in between at some point, but they would set off 1-3 every 20-30 minutes until around 4:00 AM.

My dog doesn’t like it. She can’t even stand thunderstorms, which we have plenty of during the summer. I’ll come home from work and find her hiding in the laundry closet during a T-storm. She hates the fireworks. She was laying next to me shaking the entire night on New Years. She won’t even go out for a walk when she hears a firecracker or a thunder boom within 30 miles. I can’t even hear thunder from 30 miles away but she certainly can. She’s a very timid chihuahua that is easily perturbed and scares easy.

Thankfully 4th of July is on a Monday night and not a Friday or Saturday. So maybe they’ll have work the next day and not be looking to set them off all night again. Or maybe they moved, since I don’t even know who It was.

sunny the the cockapoo hates it here.....only thing is she just wont shut the f*** up with her barking to the point i have to insist she drinks water as her voice is shot.....

but she's calm and relaxed once the shit show is over.....sucks for your pup though

and 4am? f*** that.... if im being kept up at 4am for this....im finding out what house its coming from

Happy July Fourth to all of us that live in the US. Everyone stay safe and avoid becoming the next Jason Pierre Paul. I'll be eating that all American meal - jambalaya - for dinner with the family before we head out to watch the professional fireworks nearby. My dogs will be sedated. Not sure about the cat yet, I'll have to ask my son.

Thursday, Pier 17 - Flogging Molly and The Interrupters, ab fab.

Tix still available for Stone Pony? Get a cheaper ticket.

Last night, Asbury Park - Flogging Molly and The Interrupters, same sets but still on point. Fireworks 💥 while Flogging played 3 songs, Ab Fab pt. 2.

Another So Hyang song, this time a duet with Lee Hi. I actually like the juxtaposition of their voices. Lee Hi has a really neat vibrato and warm timbre. I like how So Hyang throws in that little note at the end of her first line to loosen up Hi who seemed almost nervous. In any case, it's a nice duet.

Well, one of my favorite podcasts looks like it's done by the end of the year, if the host is to be believed. One of the cohosts left to capitalize on his minor fame and is doing standup tours and specials. Interesting reversal from the usual comedy trajectory- usually they stop doing standup to do podcasting. I think the other two will follow suit.

The podcast name is, uh, inappropriate, and I hope nobody here is able to guess what I'm talking about.

so i meant to post this a while ago - but if you have hbo max...please please please watch "Joe Pera Talks To You"

this is the best comedy i've seen in forever

I've recently taken up "microfishing", which is essentially fishing with incredibly tiny gear for small fish species that are generally completely ignored by fisherman. As you catch different species, you check them off on your lifetime list. Some folks have caught 1000+ species. I was able to check several species off the list today:

That’s great except now we’ve seen your hand
