I just watched Lightning Bolt and Tough Love. Tough Love was lot of fun with the kids dancing. Lots of infectious genuine smiles.

I first heard Ike on KXCI in Tucson. Check that out for UA community radio. I knew most of the DJs when I lived there. KXCI | Real People, Real Radio | Tucson's Community Radio

Back to Ike. The first song I heard was Good Work (If You Can Get It) from Hard Luck Stories. His first album, Salesmen and Racists I can listen to from start to finish. Same with Born on Fire (title track is a tribute to Chris Farley, who he grew up with and played rugby on the same team at Marquette).

There isn't an IRA song I don't like but I'm still getting into some of the deeper tracks on Junkie Faithful and We Belong to Staggering Evening, but they contain some my favorites like God and Money and It's Hard to Make Love to an American.

I like the stronger tracks from the newest release Because the Angels that has his three sons on backing vocals and all three of them sharing lead on one song.

I like his political union stuff too he did for the Workers of Wisconsin that was put on by another high school buudy, Tom Morello.

bought a 1x3 primed MDF board instead and ripped three 3/4" strips (two cuts) on the table saw .....10 f***ing bucks.

...50 bucks difference is insane


(yes, i could just buy a 4'x8' and rip that .....but i have no use to store the excess right now......this was just for one set of doors.....which look awesome in an oxblood color)

*there was laughter as he knew i meant 'where's the washroom?'

... i return after and sign the obvious paperwork the signature


then i remembered .... so i asked....

This is almost the exact opposite of the kind of music I like. This annoying, pop sound. And nothing against all the other singers on the stage as they are fine, but terribly cookie cutter.

But Sohayng stands above the others and makes this not only tolerable, but enjoyable. Her voice is like a laser beam. Manages to give me chills every time.

I think it would be more than fair and more than called for to impose violence on whatever motherf***er in this neighborhood has a terribly loud barking dog at all hours of the night.

I find it hard to believe that the owner is home during these hours where the dog does nothing but bark. Even if they were awake, I can’t think they’d be alright with their dog barking this much. They’d probably get annoyed by it themselves, unless they’re deaf.

The sad part is I don’t even think this dog is that close to me. I feel even worse for whoever lives next door to it. It might even be blocks away from me. I can’t ever tell where it’s coming from. The thing woke me up at about 4:00-4:30 AM yesterday barking it’s throat all but off.

Yesterday I was coming home from work and there were signal problems at the subway station I get off of. I took an Uber from Barclays Center.
