The Devils have a culture of failure
In the span of six months my wife has gone from "bound to a hospital bed, on a ridiculous amount of oxygen via a rebreather mask, unable to walk, and an emotional wreck" to "enthusiastic and able to go out and live a social life with friends at a party, only needing oxygen to walk around outside and to go to sleep." Just seeing that time span typed out blows my mind. Sure, she still has to recover for a couple of days after a big social outing like we had this weekend, but it's worlds better than it was before.
Generally, there is a light on the other side, even if it's hard to see. So if you're at a low point, hang in there, find stuff that makes you happy or gets your mind off of things, and chug along. I get it's easier said than done but I thought things were hopeless for a while.
