If people are ready to start traveling again it appears Mardi Gras is up and running and well attended. It’s worth a visit to New Orleans if you haven’t been before. Best food you will ever eat in the United States. That’s not an opinion that’s a fact.

lots of great music from the early 1980s fro. Gabriel, U2, Van Halen, the Police. It was an underrated era in popular music. I’ll always regret not seeing the Talking Heads.

Never saw talking heads but saw David Byrne's Naked tour and the two shows he played at the Count Basie Theatre in Red Bank on Halloween for the filming of Between the Teeth. Which reminds me I never watched the DVD.

New Orleans is a place I've always wanted to visit, but never had the opportunity to. Now with a kid it might be a while before I get the chance.

Worked 14 hours yesterday and a few more today, so not much of a weekend to speak of. I did have time to wrap the guides on the ice rod. I think it's coming together pretty well. I just wish ice blanks didn't all come with some bright color painted on the top.

bring him along. Babies love duck gumbo and hurricanes from Pat O’Brien’s.

I definitely like hurricanes. Fancy cocktail mixing was one of the hobbies I picked up during the pandemic. I went out of my way to get good passionfruit syrup just to make hurricanes.

Getting one in the place where it was invented would be something.

Pat O’Brien’s is a fun time if you go with some friends and stay in the quarter so you can stumble back to the hotel.

I f***ing hate metal. Probably leftover bullshit from growing up in in the NJ/NYC punk and hardcore scene in the 90's.

Kerry King is - as of tonight - the most pleasant famous person I've ever met in my life.

Not a humble brag, just pumping Slayer's tires because apparently they deserve it and several of you seem to be in to the genre.

Does anyone else remember that weird moment when people were trying to revise history by saying Sandinista was good? I feel that was just a kneejerk defiance moment.

it was very hyped back in the day to my recollection but it wasn’t by the punk crowd. It was more the club crowd. I owned the album but found it underwhelming or maybe just whelming? It had some good moments but it didn’t grab me the way London Calling had done. I can still listen to that album all these years later and enjoy it.

Okay, I can't stand this record at all, honestly.

But for some reason, I've always really liked this song. I would say this is definitely in my top-10 favorite Clash songs and there's nothing else after London Calling in my top-10, other than this one. Straight to Hell is probably close though.
