Are they counting time back?A friend brought me the Nixie clock I made her some time ago for her birthday as one of the tubes gave up the ghost. I replaced the tube and realized I never finished the clock I was making for myself. So I finally did. And I think it's my favorite one so far.

excellent
how much to make one and do the tubes produce high heat like guitar vacuum tubes....or is it just for look?
i cant imagine real tubes running 24/7

All in, for what I paid for everything, was about 100$. But I bought a lot of this stuff pre-covid. checking now, it would be closer to 150$.
They are real Nixie Tubes from the former Soviet Union. The oldest one in the set is from 1976. They do not run hot at all. A clock I built for my sister has been running 24/7 for 3 years with no issues. The one I fixed for my friend was the same until that tube went out. The guy I get the tubes from has had one running 24/7 for 5 years with no issues.
No one and no thing can count back time, unfortunately.
Just think how much bourbon, ammo, fried snack food, and oversized pick up trucks you can get in a bag like that!! There may even be room for your ten gallon hat in there.I just spent $350 on a carry-on suitcase. I went to a Samsonite outlet and got $200 off on it to an ordinary sticker price (i.e. normally $500ish).
I am not sure if i feel like an adult or an idiot
A nice piece of luggage tho. These modern things dont weigh a thing
My hat travels either on my head or my lap so it wont get crumbled!Just think how much bourbon, ammo, fried snack food, and oversized pick up trucks you can get in a bag like that!! There may even be room for your ten gallon hat in there.

Are you a Bowie fan?
ya i have a bunch of bowie records in my collection
why asking?
Right. We discussed Pin Ups. There is a new documentary about him called Moonage Daydream. Very well done. Worth a watch. Really gives you an idea of who Bowie was. He really was a mixture of late 1960s NY avant garde stuff like Velvet Underground combined with an amped version of Andy Warhol. Really amazing guy. I think he made one mistake. He should have continued working with Mick Robson after 1974.
