Probably of no interest to anyone but as a fly tyer I geek out on stuff like this.
This is Dr. Whiting giving a tour and explaining his farm to the guys from a fly fishing company named Fly Fishing Food
I've heard they aren't used at all for their meatinterest to me as a coop man ... are the clucks layers or meat birds?
first guitar in 1990 or around there... richmond's pawn shop in toronto.
what garbage.
the guitar. not the shop.
(an aside. i bought an amp there month later ...a 1984 fender stage 212. it wasn't ready for sale yet. .... i said how much 'as is' .... it became 300$....i put 150 bucks into the repair and still works fine today...sure is not a tube amp but it's sturdy and sounds great)
///
...the guitar was a cheap ass copy of a les paul... looked like this.... sounded like shit...intonation bad, a f***ing coating that looked like how a thick coating on a candy apple would be
what was i thinking?!!!

i took i apart years ago and had the pieces with many pieces of other many guitars in boxes in a smokehouse....
found the pickups.....typical look like humbuckers. but when opened are cheap ass single coil crap. ...and the pots are all 250k...
oh no ...no..... f*** no.
i hated that guitar... for how shitty it was, how naive i was.
...
it's ok. i got my revenge.
i rebuilt it proper. i'm real happy with it. i carved the f*** out of it
*many photos and blah blah blah to follow*
Holy "taking chicken-sh*t and turning it into chicken salad", Batman!!yes self quote...
im finally gonna show this bastard.

i stripped it... the back was real nice grain and i was glad as i dont bother to paint the back (or sides) but i wanted a full non paint guitar but the sides ended up looking like shit after stain so black it was ....and for the better in the end
no...the front did not sand well and it was useless for a natural look..... original color red in pocket
dont have shot of shit front as its black now

shop only had a shitty off white cream and black..... wanted neither.
made my own cover after a mistake

i did.

...test run, and final solder weld version...

....back plates.....pain in the ass to drill the holes .....broke a million bits.
but its a stainless steel range hood .... good forever
View attachment 772173
....tail piece for look on hinge held down by velcro so as to access whammy install screws....
View attachment 772174
note: the bar that was made between the whammy and bridge for downward tension never made it to the end as it pulled out of the body upon tuning....waste of time but for the best... the angle is better for playing. and ya, i left the f***ing holes open in the end
2 of a perfect pair... pickup configuration and wiring are different ....black bridge pickup runs the guitar hot as f***.......the neck p90 is interesting... almost like a tone blend? in a certain roll it doesnt do what one would expect ..... but it does it consistently .....its a very fun guitar to get sounds out of
i've found all the sweet spots on the controls over the last month...and it can be very subtle.
but so satifying

Very cool. Can't wait to see the pics.these really didnt take that long ....sanding the bodies and necks is quick....the painting is over a few days as multiple coats are done......then it's a trip to the parts shop for new tuners, pots, bridge, pickups, toggle switch and wiring... soldering is a hour or so depending if im having a good day with the iron (up the irons! ) ...also helps that these were just restores with upgraded parts and not a full on scratch build... the white one's body used to be a bass which i reshaped a bit smaller and changed the design
next is a electric bass and then the big challenge of an acoustic guitar completely from raw materials. excited to get to that one
I have fun memory fr.I’m my childhood. We had flat and house, my family had few chickens for eggs and meet, Mostly market was brutal after crushing USSR and big part of our food was growing by ourselves in the garden. We changed cucumbers and tomatoes or some other vegetables for goat or cow milk or cream etc.Check out this chicken's feathers. This is the breeder/owner of Whiting Farms

I had some pulled pork left over and I was trying to figure out what to do with it...so I came up with this
Panara English muffins, pulled pork, eggs over easy and turkey gravy. Ground black pepper to finish on a paper plate . 2:00pm break my fast ....I know it sounds and probably looks gross, but it was incredibly awesome and I just made it up on the fly.

im in the mood for some relaxing, easy listening tonight
That's what I was aiming for. It was really good. I used the last of the pork or I would've made it again tomorrow. It’s kinda sorta eggs Benedict

I’m a little surprised he was only 65. I figured he had to be 70 by now.shane macgowan dead at 65
Shane MacGowan, Pogues songwriter and Irish music legend, dies aged 65
One of the all-time great bandleaders and writer of Christmas classic Fairytale of New York, MacGowan invigorated rock with the power of Irish folk musicwww.theguardian.com
just finished watching this 2 hour 9 minute masterpiece straight through /minus piss breaks/
a band tighter then a nun.
the full thing is awesome
camera work top notch
and of course, zappa's mockery and showmanship
....the band is f***ing insane
...and guitar wonderment that i can relate to
Zappa has never done it for me but I think he was one of the most intelligent and observant people in modern music. My uncle was part of the company that installed an alarm system in his house many years ago. Zappa hung out at the time with a large gentleman who my uncle described comedically but I cannot remember the friend's name all these years later.
