He clearly has a guitar there? My guess is it was just the camera angles as the other guys have their instruments shown easily enough if you look for them.

oh it's obvious he has a guitar just interesting that you never see the body even for a split second

as for the tribute model near the bottom of the page i always found that to be kind of tacky (does't matter which artist they're made for) ...also intentionally reliced guitars i consider 'cheating' ....you got to earn the wear if you're a player, not just buy it

So I need a recommendation for a propane grill. Nothing fancy. Three burners and durable. My old Weber finally hit the dust when we moved recently and I don’t like the build quality of the current lineup. It feels tinny compared to my old one. We just dropped off my youngest at college and I think the days of large grilling are over. I just want something that will last for under $1000. Hopefully that’s doable in today’s world.

wait until end of season and scoop up on a "this years model" going out of stock...

1000$ will do you more than enough for something that lasts.

then again, my cousin payed about 8 grand for an outdoor whole bbq setup....wide grill, counter space, sink with potable water.... a fridge?!..... everything slick as f***

it was overwhelming. to each their own.

now for fun.... Elvis Costello on Why He Remade 'This Year's Model' Entirely in Spanish

With the youngest off to college it’s just me the wife and the dogs. Maybe I’ll grill some chicken or steaks but she doesn’t eat low and slow BBQ the way the boys did so I don’t need a smoker at this point and I only need enough grill space for a modest dinner. I just don’t want a grill that rusts in two years. I’ve had too many of those. My last Webber lasted about six or seven years and I probably could have gotten more out of it if I was willing to do some work on it myself. The new ones just don’t seem as sturdy until you go to about the $1500 range which is more than I would spend unless I want to sleep in the grill after my wife banishes me to the backyard.

by grill, do you mean the actual grill the food goes on heat.....or the actual shell of the bbq?

these are important factors.....i'd rather a cheap shell and solid quality surface to cook on....just get to 600F +

The grilling surface is easy to replace as needed. That’s just some metal grates. What isn’t easy to replace is the shell since you have to take the grill apart to move components into the new shell. The shell is what rusted out on me in most grills.

Weber has engineered it's construction to be built with sheet steel as opposed to a tubular frame. It's also china built for most models as opposed to 20 years ago when it was US made. Is it also focused too much of bell's and whistle's? Definitely, no one seems to care about connecting their grill to their phone.

So I agree with the idea that Weber's are not what they once were, but I think those quality concerns are industry wide, and amongst the current competitors I think Weber is still at the top in terms of building a long lasting grill. Replacement parts are also readily available and their customer service is good.

I'd stick with it. Get a 3 burner Genesis for a grand.

I find a common theme in terms of grill rusting is leaving it in a damp, shady area. Try to put it in a sunny area.

On the river last night a pair of bald eagles watched me fish for over an hour...I think they were disappointed that I didn't get anything.

*disclaimer...if you intend to watch the whole main video be warned that there's a a bunch of 'downtime' and f***ing around with equiptment or tuning or whatever at times...but there's plenty good footage throughout

...camera work at 1:04:00-1:06:00 captures some very clear faces near the end of the set.....

someone really knew how to work a real camera...the focus is incredible during this sequence

Majestic creatures to see them in person. I’m glad to see they are in the southern tier region
There are a lot of them in New Jersey. The population has exploded in the last 10 or so years

New Jersey in 2022 had 250 active nest...that means a pair of adults with eggs. And they are in every county in New Jersey.

I know of 3 nest from New Brunswick to Princeton. They are always flying along the Raritan River around Rutgers.

When we went to Alaska I went salmon fishing in a river. It was beautiful and the eagles were everywhere. The young ones aren’t much to look at but the adults make a great impression. It’s easy to see why they were chosen as a national symbol. I once saw an eagle in Florida carrying a fish away from a golf course pond. Really amazing.

Ya, I'll see them occasionally near me on the bayshore. Think I may have seen one just the other day, pretty close, but it was through a bunch of trees so I didn't get a great look.

Osprey is another bird of prey that has been brought back in NJ over the last couple decades. Had clear looks at them recently. Think that is partly seasonal.

Can't say I was super observant as a kid, but I don't really remember seeing any big birds back in the day.

Vultures seemed to have led the resurgence. I can remember that being a novelty. Now they are ubiquitous.

Then Red Tails, and Osprey. The Baldies only more recently.

Think I saw a Peregrine Falcon once, not an especially big bird.

Osprey migrate south from New Jersey around now. The end of the summer they start heading south...I've driven down the west coast of Florida in December and every single street light, billboard, cell tower or any other high spot had and Osprey on it.

I watched an osprey eating a sheepshead(fish) on a piling in Cape Coral Florida and a bald eagle swooped down and stole the fish...it was so cool the eagle dive bombed the osprey, he looked like a fighter jet with his wings laid straight back in a dive...I actually got pictures of it all.

Sometimes a Kestrel is confused for a Peregrine...but we definitely have both.

Nice. Kayaking the Delaware a bunch of years back, and I saw 2 eagle's fighting over a fish. One was a baldy. I thought the other was maybe a golden, but on describing it to me buddy, he thought it was just a young baldy.

We even get an occasional Golden eagle in New Jersey...now that is an incredible bird. They are much bigger than a bald eagle. A rancher in Wyoming once told me Golden's will kill Pronghorn antelope by diving and breaking their backs. Sounds unbelievable but I have heard that from numerous people.

Somewhat related, but see if you can figure this one out. I was walking the back side of Sandy Hook, late fall, warm day, really low tide. We were maybe 100 feet out, really clear water which was up to our knee's.

Swimming by our feet was this big ass reddish fish with some pretty elaborate fins. Had a mouth like a bottom feeder. I was a little freaked out at first, but we chilled with it before it swam off.

I'm pretty sure I know what it was, but they are apparently very rare around these parts.

Rainy yucky day today. Not sure if I am going to get to fish today, thunderstorms in the forecast... might just have to be a whiskey and cigar kind of day.
