Unlike 2006 at least we can run back this team basically, and maybe make a decent upgrade. Maybe Kulak out for a RD and put Broberg back on LD

Was a blast watching games with you all, all season.

Wish we didn't fall short, but it was a hell of a run, and the team proved a lot of doubters wrong.

Have a great summer everyone, looking forward doin this all again at puck drop of next season!

Let's go Oilers!!

Is there a reason Skinner wasn't pulled with 2 minutes on the clock and in complete control of the o-zone? Waited until 1:30 and by that point, the stars were gassed. McDavid could barely skate and had a bad turnover near the end because he was completely out of breath.
Knoblach has been incredible for us since he was hired but he badly mismanaged his bench in the closing minutes of the third period. McDavid and Draisaitl both had a 2 minute shift from about 4 minutes left down to 2 minutes left. That’s what gassed them. From there they couldn’t get a whistle. I know they needed a goal but he should have been resting them a little more so they could have been fresh for the final 2 minutes when Skinner would have been pulled.

Even though we lost the experience the core players got from making it to game 7 will be invaluable in the future.

Hopefully Jackson brings back Rico, Brown and Janmark. They were our MVP of the finals.

Islands in the stream.
Sorry but I hate the false positivity stuff. They blew it and the top players were no shows in game 7
Was a heck of a ride, was a great run, but at the end of the day it’s just that, a run. Years past you could say the top players had no help from the depth, this year is the opposite, the depth players were let down by the top players. Completely pathetic performance by our top guns in what might be the only shot they get at a cup…
Don't agree with this. The topisx struggled in first but were dominant as game progressed. They were owning the third. The difference was goaltending as it tends to be in game 7's and which are low scoring affairs. Its why at the time I felt the 2-1 goal was so huge.

We're still playing, and in Ot if goaltending was equal.

Not gonna lie, I feel very deflated. I haven’t had the privilege of being alive for any of the Oilers cups so the 06 run was all that I knew in terms of success. Makes it that much more painful that this one also ended in a game 7 loss.
What I can be proud of is how hard the boys battled throughout these playoffs and especially this series. They could have rolled over in 4 or 5 games but had the resilience to take this to 7 games.
Also, I’m sure our top guns learned a lot from this game and will come back even more hungry next year.
As for me, I will take some time away from hockey and focus on myself and my happiness this summer.
Thank you to Oilers fans for the great memories these past couple of months. The city was electric and I wouldn’t trade that experience for anything in the world. See you in the fall for another kick at the can, HFOil
