This is a bad hockey team

Love that this thread was started towards the end of the 2nd period against Vancouver in which we were up a couple goals. Yes we ended up losing that game in OT, but it was such a miserable and pompous, unbecoming thing to do when you call yourself a “Rangers fan”.

Here we are 10-3-3

Even before that game, we were playing like crap, and we still played like crap after that game.

Things are definitely starting to gel, but to think the critiques were illegitimate is wrong.

And yet they didn't win by more. They played down to one of the worst teams in the league.

If they play like that against one of the better teams, what would you say happens?

Despite the wins, we haven't played well this season, but we've improved since I made this thread. Do I think we're good enough right now to even win a playoff round if we make it? Absolutely not. But I'm glad we're trending in the right direction.

I've attended multiple games this season so it's not fair to question my fandom when all I'm doing is venting my frustration, which is easily validated through advanced stats as well as the eye test. I want this team to be good as much as anyone, which is why it's so frustrating to me that, in my personal opinion, they aren't living up to expectations, despite the record.

Attendance doesn’t validate an incorrect statement. One could argue that those watching on TV have a better view. And besides, the point here is that this IS NOT a bad team.
Have they played poorly at times? Sure. Have they had good players not produce at times? Sure.
A bad team overall? Not even close.

Change the title to "This is a bad playing hockey team overall so far based on eye test and advanced analytics with the exception of a few players namely Fox, Igor, and CK, but Trouba and Kakko are totally trending up, so that's good, and Rooney's entire line has been pretty decent as a 4th. Strome and Zib kind of stink a bit."

I would like to know who is playing perfect hockey? Besides maybe Carolina? Who is it in the group of the top teams in the standings, with the season so young, that is not making any mistakes or has room for improvement? Who of those teams had a lot of roster turnover, completely changing the makeup and identity of the team and how they would play? And under a new coach?

How about the legitimate fact that the Rangers are doing this in the toughest division in the league? f*** your fancy stats and your questionable judgement for an “eye test”. Or that because you spend money and attend games that makes you some great “fan”. POMPOUS.

This thread was so incredibly premature to start and it has aged horribly.

LETS f***ING GO RANGERS.

I'm actually having a damn good time this season. We're winning and playing entertaining hockey with a strong hint of getting better week to week. Enjoy the good times when you've got them boys.

i've been very cynical for the past few months. but they are finding ways to win and I am happy to be proven wrong. I still think they are T H I N up front, and the margins are super thin. But here's to being wrong!
