For a guy who never played in the NHL, on a team that wasn't scoring period, it's pretty impressive.

i agree

but can someone give me a logical reason of stifling offensive creativity at all times?

and playing kreider 8-10 minutes on the 3rd line is the equivalence of taking your number 1 hitting prospect and batting him 8th right in front of the pitcher...not conducive for success, not optimizing the guys abilities and giving him the best chance to succeed

He's learning how to be defensively responsible. This team is built on that concept and just because he can score doesn't mean that's all he has to do.

I'd argue Torts is the best coach for him.

That being said, I don't think he'll score playing on the 3rd with Boyle. But he needs to improve... needs to learn.

Absolutely, I think that's pretty much the difference between this year and last so far. But the offensive system problems are still there and will be an obstacle to reaching the SCF. We can't just count on Philadelphia knocking off the Penguins, at some point the Rangers will have to beat Pittsburgh

The only thing stifling offensive creativity is Kreider himself.

Unless icing it with nobody pressuring you when the red line is a few feet away is a coaching decision and not just an awful individual decision.

Kreider's not playing his game. It's not the system that's stopping him from doing that.

The worst hockey team I've had the pleasure of watching all season long.

This is the most disagreement I've had with Torts' methods in a long time but with more pieces to deal with, no doubt it's harder to find balance.

Wherever I'm standing atm
We will lose next two to BOS in regulation and to PHI in SO. This is not a good team, which is normal given the fact that Anisimov and Dubi were replaced with some spare parts that are out of shape and out of the system.

You're right it's a great team! :) (Pssssst Nash is not a spare part and neither is Pyatt!)

I'm not too worried yet as I feel like they've got to build chemistry with each other and that's going to take a few games/practices... but the one thing I absolutely HATE about this team (that they've been doing for a while now) is how much they collapse when defending 5 on 5 in our zone. I mean, have confidence in your d-men/center and at least have one winger playing the point tight. They need to stagger it up rather than just have the two wingers drop down to the faceoff dots... especially against a skilled team like the Pens and Bruins.

John Maclean tried to play Kovalchuk out of position , the NJD sucked big h got fired , LeMaire took over switched Kovy back and guy won like 20 out of 22 . I could only hope Torts gets fired and LeMaire took his place .... Torts is a CLOWN

LOL. Kovy played out of position all year last year, so that Parise could play LW. Get your facts straight.

My line of thinking is that Gabby should play on the right side because his wrist shot is the most deadly playing on the off-wing. That being said... Nash can gain the same advantages playing on the right side even though he's not your traditional "sniper"... he does have a sick shot after all.

At least Hagelin was finally demoted.

Kreider-Steps-Cally could be interesting.

And why is Asham sitting?
