Gabby is incognito and I mean that even in a good sense. He's not going to break every ankle on the ice and take over games. He'll just quietly pot a few without anyone even knowing he was there.

Yes, he will get 5 goals in some game this year and people will swoon and then back to invisibility for long stretches. That is why I never liked his game. It would be nice if he ever had great games in the playoffs but I guess that isn't very appealing to him.

This is not a cup team.

Fire Torts.

Tank for Seth Jones............oh wait, we have no 1st...............Tank for the 2nd.

Trade Gabby.

Muzzle Torts, if he resists, then fire him.

No tanking.

We should always be open to offers for any player, any time, but
No trading Gabby at this point.

relax people... its game 2 of a 48 game season.

give it a week or two for everyone to get back on the same page. these guys have only practiced together for a week, they need time to develop chemistry with Nash being a top priority forward now anyway...

Jeeze, these freaking bandwagoners live and die with one game. This is NOT the NFL!

In the last 48 game season, no team that started 0-3 made the playoffs. Just saying...

So glad to see the term "bandwagoner" being thrown around again to solidify ones own superior and hardcore fandom.

Hockey is back.

and in the last 48 game season, we didnt have ridiculous penalty rules and an offensively-played game. hockey was gritty, dirty, hard hitting, etc.

We don't have that anymore. The NHL and NFL are now like the NBA... they want MORE SCORING because it generates more excitement and therefore more revenue and therefore profit...

Anyway, as far as I am concerned, although these games do in fact matter, the teams and players are most likely viewing this as their preseason week... Fair enough, if you ask me

I've never heard the garden as silent as it was last night. The calm before the storm I say!

One good thing is that Rick Nash looks like a beast. You can tell he's been playing during the lockout....while a lot of the guys are still shaking off the rust, Nash seems to be playing at NHL-level speed and quickness.

Hopefully everyone else catches up soon.

Start Prince Chad
We shoulda picked Tarasenko or Fowler
Trade Gaborik
CALLY is a third line grinder

Ok there yiu have it LGR please win at least one game in January

would it have been the worst thing in the world to pick tarasenko

He was helpful but it definitely is time to make him like Gartner and I would bet that him and sombody we all love are being looked at as trade bait . Sather will mortgage the future to win this season or next , mark my words !!!

He is not a bad player. He is an overrated and overpaid one.

I definitely disagree; I believe he's underrated, not overrated.

As far as being overpaid, I can understand that. But, for a 40 goal scorer, he's not that overpaid.

Yeah, a PPG in the Washington series with one shoulder sure is the sign of an overpaid and overrated player.

I guess NOT using a weak two games to springboard your agenda isn't very appealing to you.

Well i started that thread last year and of course things turned around for a number reasons starting with the arrival of Hagelin for the second time and how well he made the first line play and connect. I havent watched a game yet this season just highlights but i will say that giving up guys like Prust, Dubi, Feds and Anisimov and thinking this will not have an impact can be create problems. All of those guys were pretty good at opening the ice for other players and relatively hard to play against. Esp prust. Also Anisimov a tall and good two way center. Im just not sure the replacements make this team better and i will know more by watching but on paper that is my outlook. Yes its early but in an abbreviated season losing 2 in a row is not a good start.

I feel like this has been talked about every year, but I'll quickly say this:

Gaborik's job is to get the puck in a scoring position and score, not to carry the puck.

That's why he was so successful last year. Stepan and Richards set him up when he found space.

Nash is going to be the guy who powers towards the net.

I am not disagreeing with you, but he shouldn't be carrying the puck.

But this is why he is not a take over the game player. Yes there are guys like Shanny or Hull that were big players who carried the puck little but the best players can carry the puck, with control and also score not one dimensional.
