Gabby is incognito and I mean that even in a good sense. He's not going to break every ankle on the ice and take over games. He'll just quietly pot a few without anyone even knowing he was there.

Exactly, he's a sniper. Being invisible and yet still potting a goal or two most games is what he does. The often used comparison to a ninja is somewhat accurate .

Right now, this team looks like a college team against NHL teams.

I think Gabby, Richards, Cally, Nash and several others are totally out of shape. Torts commented early that the team's overall conditioning level "needed work." We need to set some lines that will stick and let some chemistry develop.

Since we're making anti-jinx threads, I want to let you guys know that I will also contribute to the shanangangangans. I am going to burn left over onions, potatoes along with a picture with the logos of every team in the NHL in the onion potato flames while playing a Nicki Minaj song and summon the holy satan himself to help this team.

Pics available upon request.

In retrospect I'm still glad we didn't have to, but we were pretty crazy being so scared to deal Kreider for Nash. Guy's worth 5 Kreiders.

I did this last year... can't remember what I burned but it was left over vegetables as well I think. Tough to have varieties of vegetables to cover nutrition needs and finish all of them before they start being fishy.

I know we will get better but systematically we have never been a great offense but we have the pieces in place to be great. What upsets me is I have been watching hockey the past few days like everyone else and I see competent hockey teams playing each other but our games have been downright ugly and lopsided. We cant just rely and being the best defense with the best goalie, we need to be able to put pressure on the best teams in the league.

We've been constantly suffocated by the opposing D on the rush into the offensive zone. It's by far the most frustrating thing to watch. We can't set up the offensive zone for ****. This is unacceptable given the amount of offensive talent we have.

Only two games in with no preseason. I'll hold my complaints until after game 5.

IMO if nash was 5 years younger on this team(in a full season) he'd be hands down best forward in the league.

calm down bud. hes great, best forward ive seen in a NYR jersey in a while, but lets not get carried away just yet

Over on the Giants boards we bury a garden gnome for luck. We've done it twice and the Giants won the superbowl both times. The guy who buried the gnome disappeared this year and low and behold. It could be bs but it doesn't hurt. I don't have a yard so can any true blue superstitious Ranger fan please purchase a Gnome, preferably dressed in Blue and give it a name and bury it head first into the ground with only the feet sticking out. I bet you the Rangers start beasting the moment it is done. Just trust me on this. The Ranger Gnome. We can call him Brian or Mark.

I wish you would step back from that ledge my friend,
You could cut ties with all the lies,
That you've been living in,
And if you do not want to see me again,
I would understand.
I would understand.

I'm the most worried about Stu Bickel getting significant playing time. Come on, replace this guy with someone else already. Eminger can't be worse.

I understand Torts probably wants some muscle in the lineup against the division rivals and other physical teams, but wasting that spot on a defenseman is going to come back to haunt them. Why not just make a call to Dale Purinton while we're at it?
