Trading Sanheim would be a weird look after they paraded him around all week.
And how good will Sanheim be on a first pair? We know metrics are slanted by usage, players who are solid further down the lineup can struggle when you ask them to do too much. Sanheim is pretty much what he was the couple years before last year, a solid 2nd pair D-man with some limitations. He's unlikely to suddenly blossom, though he should bounce back. Make him a 1st pair LHD, and I think he'll slip a bit.Leddy is one of the worst defenders in the league. It’s the equivalent of saying Sanheim would be on a 2nd pair behind Andrew MacDonald. He’s a place holder on that pair (Parayko isn’t a beauty himself these days). You know this, so this is all a waste.
They should be looking to move him before his NTC triggers - he's a good player, but not one you'd want to count on maintaining his player into his 30s. When this team is competitive, he'll be 30 with 4 years left on his contract - though by then $6M for say your 4th best D-man probably won't be that big of a burden. However, I'm not sure his skill set is conducive to graceful aging. We know they want to move Sanheim now. I think he’s worth more than a late 1st. I agree a team like Calgary should be all over this.
Think we need to trade TK for the 9 OA

It would be hilarious and not at all surprising if something like that ended up happening and all of the insiders made up some BS about how this that or the other thing fell through. I honestly don't believe much of what was "reported" today and expect that if and when this deal is done it will be significantly different.Kinda hope they keep it simple. Hayes @ 50% for #29 and Scandella. Seems right. Don’t over complicate it. Sanheim on his own should fetch a better pick, especially from a team like Calgary who’s about to lose half their roster.
I tried telling everyone torts would be a horrible hire, long b4 he was hired hereTDA at 2.5 mil could prob get you a decemt return the thd trade deadline.
We are losing out on that oppurtunity bc Torts cant swallow his ego for 6 months.
Between that and krug not wanting to play for him, Briere is learning quickly how torts is an internal obstacle .

This is blowing smoke.TDA at 2.5 mil could prob get you a decemt return the thd trade deadline.

This is how I should operate, but there have been so many years of dreck now, I just react immediately believing we'll always be disappointed.I'll just react to what actually DOES happen. kthxbai

We should trade tippet before his value goes down too and just turn him in quick pump and dump. Tippet won't make this team any less bad going forward, the futures can.

What is Krug worth on his own? I thought he was a good player?
I agree with your sequence, Redpath, but the opposite way -- Briere's return for DeAngelo is an indictment of Fletcher's decision -- is relevant. Not sure how bringing up the 2nd, 3rd and 4th traded for DeAngelo is relevant then.
The jumping to conclusions is exhaustingI'll just react to what actually DOES happen. kthxbai
Agreed. Pump and dump him.Tricky situation. He's going to get top line ice time this season and could put up inflated numbers. Could be a big value item at the deadline.
