Would playoff experience this season have no future value to the young players on the roster?

I think Ginning sucks & doesn’t have a future here but if you’re gonna get the equivalent of Marc Staal who also sucks & doesn’t (or read shouldn’t) have a future here either but is veterany what’s really the point? I’m even factoring in the late round draft pick cost. It’s not earth shattering but at the same time it seems pointless.

Lycksell should absolutely get the rest of the year he’s earned that recently in spite of the coaching staff really having no desire to give him a shot. He’s popped some in a situation that doesn’t really lend itself to be feasible with such limited time/usage.

Isnt Ryan Jo the "depth" forward addition?

I know hes been bad but there no way hes worse than Cam has been. Plus hes a center.

They really do just label guys. I guess bc Torts didnt like him 10 years ago hes the bad kinda vet. Meanwhile theyll give up a 4th for a worse center who will play bc hes been labeled a good vet bc reasons.

DiMarco saying Flyers expect teams to circle back on Laughton once Guentzel is dealt
Flyers are experts in circling.

It's amazing that the Flyers finally have a GM who's willing to take on cap dumps to acquire draft capital while also flirting with a playoff run. Or it would be if this wasn't just what Hextall did. The Flyers had 36 picks in his four drafts.

They never had any issue with how he managed.

When you see that the relatively useless Edmundsson got a 3rd and a 5th, it makes you wonder what a healthy Seeler could have got back. They could have always signed him on July 1st.

I'm also baffled by people who are completely 100% convinced Walker couldn't have fetched a likely late 1st all on his own. Worse players who aren't RHD have gotten more.

Would probably be detrimental when they find out in a sweep that they don’t have the talent, and that’s not changing anytime soon.
Nah playoff experience is always a good thing. They aren't making a deep run but even if they get swept in the first round that is better experience than going to play golf. Ideally they would have sucked the whole season and finished near the bottom but where we are now with fewer than twenty games to play they should be trying to get in.

I don’t think the prices are really that different one way or another than normal this year.

Seeler probably would/could have gotten a similar return to Edmundson. That’s generally what those third pair archetypes generally go far. The difference is some times one guy is actually good (Seeler) & the other guy isn’t (Edmundson) but the market thinks they’re both good.

The advantage to why Seeler was sought after to start with was his contract.
