Yep. Foerster, York, Brink.

Exactly.

For some reason people think a 5th rd pick is more valuable to the team's future than getting their players actual playoff experience.
I want them to make the playoffs. My worry is theyll trade a 5th rounder for a bad player who will make the team worse even tho theyll see it as an upgrade bc the player is a vet.

Chuck made the team worse when he acquired nate thompson. I dont want that to happen here. If youre gonna buy, get someone good.

So we wait for Guentzel.

Friedman on Marek said that the Briere has his prices and is not moving off of it. He got his way for Walker.

If he gets it for Laughton we have ourselves a GM.

I mean.. it’s really not saying much, but Cuck would have already shipped out a 2nd rounder WITH Laughton, just to appease the other guy.

Yeah. I mean don't get me wrong, definitely want to see them sell off everything, but I don't mind trading late round picks or middling prospects for a playoff push. I'm not talking about getting a guy who is overpaid on a long contract, but grabbing a random middle six guy or 4th liner or serviceable D-man for a late round pick? Sign me up. That's not going to be the difference between a Cup any time soon and it isn't going to be the difference between the Flyers getting a superstar in the 2024 draft as opposed to not. There's less than 20 games left, their draft position is incredibly unlikely to change that drastically regardless of whether or not they make a move for a playoff run. They're basically going to pick between 15-20 regardless of what happens barring missing the playoffs and winning the lottery or going on a deep playoff run.

While a deep playoff run is unlikely, I'd rather have that than picking 20th overall. I'd have preferred they sucked all year and were cellar dwellers, but that ship has sailed. Even if it is just to get the butterflies out of the way in what a crowd feels like on the road in a playoff series, that's a big deal.

Like he's not good or he's hurt? A 22 year old former first rounder with NHL experience seems like the exact kind of guy they should take a chance on.
Exactly. There’s value in getting these guys playoff experience.

I find that funny, cause those guys were toast at the end.

Friedman always talks about it when a player has to retire because of an injury with a contract left but the Flyers had to send Hatcher & Rathje to an independent doctor(s) because teams complained to the league behind the scenes they didn’t find it to legitimate. I don’t any of these on goings were put out by the media at the time of those events but it apparently happened behind closed doors.

I was thinking about a 3-way deal to net us Zegras.

To Philly:
Zegras

To Vancouver:
Laughton

To Anaheim:
VAN 2025 1st
their 2025 2nd from Gauthier/Drysdale deal
Andrae or some other decent prospect

Is that close?
So we trade Laughton + 2nd + Andrae for for Zegras and you think this is fair 😂

Guentzel return sounding (speculation so far?) like a really solid haul for the Penguins unfortunately (or fortunately) for Laughton purposes.

Not enough. Likely need something like a 1st, 2nd, and a prospect. Anaheim is rebuilding

Im down for trading Laughton as long as the return is good. There's a lot of top teams who sat on their hands over the past couple days and may see him as a consolation prize of sorts. Other than the usual dead weight I'd love to see moved out, but prob won't happen, I'd like to see the ltir weaponized for draft picks. They're sitting on like 8mil? That's a lot of cap dumping for assets.

Can't you just use the tsn app if you already subscribe? I just use my bell fibe app to watch from work
I don't subscribe to them because I only watch on trade deadline day, I have a fire stick I normally watch on, but the in laws are using the TV, and the wife doesn't want me kicking them off of it lol I'm also in the USA so outside of that I don't have much use for tsn
