Yeah. I mean don't get me wrong, definitely want to see them sell off everything, but I don't mind trading late round picks or middling prospects for a playoff push. I'm not talking about getting a guy who is overpaid on a long contract, but grabbing a random middle six guy or 4th liner or serviceable D-man for a late round pick? Sign me up. That's not going to be the difference between a Cup any time soon and it isn't going to be the difference between the Flyers getting a superstar in the 2024 draft as opposed to not. There's less than 20 games left, their draft position is incredibly unlikely to change that drastically regardless of whether or not they make a move for a playoff run. They're basically going to pick between 15-20 regardless of what happens barring missing the playoffs and winning the lottery or going on a deep playoff run.
While a deep playoff run is unlikely, I'd rather have that than picking 20th overall. I'd have preferred they sucked all year and were cellar dwellers, but that ship has sailed. Even if it is just to get the butterflies out of the way in what a crowd feels like on the road in a playoff series, that's a big deal.
Like he's not good or he's hurt? A 22 year old former first rounder with NHL experience seems like the exact kind of guy they should take a chance on.
