Not sure when this was recorded, but LeBrun saying action picking up around Walker and the Flyers are hearing from teams they've talked to previously.

You know what would be a very Flyers thing to do? Get a nice big haul from Walker and turn around and trade to pick up a nice 3rd/4th line thumper who will get 11 minutes a night.

Or use those pieces to trade for Zegras

So if Briere pulls off that trade with Walker I’d say things are looking up. He likely was pushing the signing narrative to increase his leverage a bit. I have faith that is what is happening. Epically after he played hardball with Cutter.

The fact they’re willing to go four years on Seeler is utterly insane to me. I’d expect that to be like a pie in the sky ask from Seeler’s camp just to ask not actually the team agreeing with it.

The report was the Flyers are looking for four years for both Seeler & Walker. Walker is looking for five years though. It was from David Pagnotta.

The Flyers just can't do the smart thing, can they.

They hold a cap throw in and a guy who missed a full year of hockey because no one wanted him, and can trade them for likely a 1st+2nd.

Instead, they are trying to lock them up for 4 years each.

The Flyers making the playoffs AND getting 2 1sts, 2 2nds, and a 3rd for Laughton Walker and Seeler would be a huge notch for Briere. Why would you want to pass that up? Do that and use your cap space to get back assets and maybe even players that can play for us.

I predict Seeler stays, Walker goes. Seeler wants to be here, Walker wants to get paid. Triumvirate love Seeler cause he blocks shots, supposedly mentors the younger D. Risto getting hurt screwed up things moreso then Drysdale getting hurt, because now your gonna have to find a taker for Risto in offseason. You definitely don't want to go into next season holding onto two of Walker/Risto/Seeler.

Signing Seeler for anything more then 3 years is dumb. The guy is gonna bottom out at some point here with the style that he plays. I've said this time and time again, flyers shouldn't be signing anyone over 26 for more then 2/3 years max.

Friedman on 32 Thoughts:

- Philly likely to add a CHEAP goaltender and veteran forward at the deadline.
- they will not budge on contract or trade negotiations. Friedman expects Laughton to stay in Philly.
- said he heard on Sunday that Philly has their eyes on the playoffs and want to acquire pieces to make that happen, but not high end assets used to acquire it.
- said they touched on Zegras, but they don’t want to spend the assets to acquire.
- although there’s a bunch of noise regarding Seeler, Walker, and Laughton, if teams don’t match, then they’re not moving. Philly also won’t budge on contracts negotiations. Walker wants 5 years likely around 30 mil and Philly doesn’t want to go that long. Seeler wants somewhere above 3 and Philly doesn’t want to go that high.

He expressed a little concern that they’re backing themselves into a corner. If they won’t play ball, then it fully comes down to how Briere can handle everything caving in at once.

So in other words we are acquiring Adam Oates?

The Flyers balking at the idea of trading old players who don't fit their timeline to finish with a quality draft pick, to only instead try and trade York and a bunch of other stuff for said pick/asset is absolutely hilarious to me. Like, you don't want to trade vets to accomplish getting elite talent, you want to trade your good young players instead?

Saying it's ass backwards is being generous. I hope Charlie is making this up.

DB is gonna have to make a big trade at some point for a young star center and hes gonna need ammo to do it.

Every few years an unexpected young star becomes available...hes just gotta be ready for it.
