I’m good with picks now. Over the next few years shift to prospects as we get ready for Michkov. You see how effective Tyson is a few years post draft. It will take a few years IF you hit.

I am going to say we make trades after this weekend. It’s still 5 days predeadline and you keep your top pair and 3C PK around hopefully until TK comes back. Pick up two wins and several 1sts and 2nds. Then start using cap space for picks.

Paul Bissonnette said Cutter’s dad called him over what he said on Spittin Chiclets.

I'd almost prefer a prospect that's been developing in a competent organization over a pick that the Flyers will develop, despite the disparity in years of control and remaining development time.
The problem with this is teams don’t normally trade guys they believe in. Exceptions of course but draft picks are almost always better than B rated prospects unless a team feels they are severely underrated. Plus draft picks are more liquid. You can use them in player trades. Draft day trades to move around the board. Etc.

I don’t listen to Chiclets but am curious. Was this on today’s episode? Happen to have a timestamp?

True, I'm working off the assumption that the Flyers are more likely to use a pick than to trade it at this point.

If that’s the hope, I understand it. But I would at least make some kind of adjustment between NCAA guys and those who have spent a year+ as a pro. Howard’s two colleges have done more to shape Isaac than his affiliated NHL team right now.

That's what I thought as well but he was thinking they needed to add a 3rd in there somewhere lol

If it was picks, I would want more than just a 1st, but I think a former 1st that has progressed and shown promise since being drafted makes up for any other picks that may have been included.

My thoughts as well, I'd take just him for both of them if I'm being completely honest with you

They’re gonna trade no one. In fact, I predict they trade a 4th round pick for a better option than Cal in goal. Seeler and Walker will both get extended while they send someone a 2025 3rd at the draft to take Fisto at 2.55 million.

At this point I have no hope nor faith that they will ever do the right thing. Go ahead Danny, prove me wrong.

I don't think they'd have to pay someone to take Ristolainen. They could probably trade him for Conor Garland.

Union did more to develop Gostisbehere than the Flyers did.

I'm being unnecessarily snarky. Shaw actually has seemed to do a decent job with some of the defencemen. But I'm still so gun shy over their process that I'd trust most college programs more than them, especially if a prospect went to Lappy first.
