This x 1000. Contending teams now know there is ZERO chance to sign him.

This front office is such Mickey Mouse.

Maybe when his 5 year extension expires. Wizard Danny will add few extra years to keep the cap doewn.
This is something that's hard for me to get riled up about. I doubt the interest for most teams looking at Seeler at the deadline is contingent on an extension. But if it is, they'd probably get the Flyers permission in advance to have a conversation with his reps so they'd know regardless. And I can't blame the Flyers since they don't control Seeler's ask and I don't blame Seeler for trying to maximize his likely only opportunity at a big deal.

If anything, I'm just thankful his extreme demands are sufficient to save the Flyers from themselves in resigning him.

He also isn't one of those guys you are planning on signing anyway, he's a deadline rental, and honestly most teams like that better.

Would be nice to see them move roster players before the last minute

Chuck Fletcher waiting to get on his horse until the entire league had already finished making trades, in a very aggressive seller's market, remains some of the funniest shit I've seen out of this team. Prices don't magically go up 5 minutes before the deadline, let alone when every possible partner already completed their trades 1-2 weeks prior. Chuckles was the guy who always lost first in musical chairs.

Can only imagine that the flurry of 17 phone calls (half of which received voicemails) was literally done within the last hours before the deadline.

I remember waking up to the Coburn for Gudas + 1st + 3rd trade on deadline morning 2015. Would be nice to get a haul like for Seeler or Walker or both combined.

It was said admirably of Chuck Fletcher that he didn't blink. But few coma patients ever did.

Gudy was excellent throw in. Kinda makes Provy and Coburn package pretty much the comparable.

This Bailey character seems legit, but he's selling low here. Sure, the Flyers would probably love to trade for any number of 100pt+ franchise C in their prime, but why not go all the way and say they should target McDavid if you're going to write a fantasy article. Heck, they should make EDM retain some salary and trade for McDavid AND Petterson while they're at it.

Wait, we are going to sign a 3rd pairing dman turning 31 years old, 3+million AND term?
That will fit well with the currently injured 3rd pairing dman who makes $5.1m for 3 more years who turns 30 in October. :thumbu:

If we are gonna do what it seems like is the inevitable and cancel the rebuild...I say trade for G.
Don't be silly :sarcasm:
