I grew up around diehard Rangers Devils Isles fans… let me poll them and see what they think about Jonesy

I can’t believe I’m saying this, but Butch Goring has improved quite a bit in the last ~5 years. He used to be Bob Errey levels of unlistenable to me.

I have little to no issues with Keith Jones himself. He is who he is but you're not getting me to look passed the reason that he was hired and that was for him to be able to "tell the story."

He's a glorified PR guy who is here to make people feel good.

I'd rather my Front Office people serve with an actual tangible on ice benefit but i'm old fashioned.

I am a big fan of Doc. Thought he was the GOAT. Sam Rosen has been subject to confusion lately but he has a great voice. Pittsburgh, Washington, Boston were unlistenable to me. Enjoyed Carolina, but I think that dude went to Seattle and does some national games? John Forslund?

Loved staying up late to listen to Bob Miller as I grew up on D1 and D2 lol

My issue with Jonesy on the broadcasts were his 'breakdowns' of play. I am not saying I'm a wizard when it comes to breaking down play, but I do believe I have a decent-to-good level of knowledge about hockey systems/play/skills etc. I never once learned anything from Jonesy during his breakdowns, always very surficial. As much as I hated Pierre McGuire, or Eddie O, they would at least have a decent breakdown from time to time. The problem here is that I am fairly confident that Jonesy can take me to task when it comes to overall hockey knowledge - it just never came out IMO.

However, he was funny and always had a line ready to go.

Most definitely. I want the people in the booth to be knowledgeable and instructive. Unfortunately, things seem to be going the other way. Here’s a personality. Enjoy their musings.
That and his only adjective being “outstanding “ drove me crazy.
Oh, the lack of competition for the PoHO job pissed me off too.

Can agree Boston sucks, Jack Edward's is insufferable, his voice alone makes me want to suck start a shotgun "rockem sockem time" "A huge green light hit" idk how that fan base loves him so much

Well they needed 2 guys who would make sure to keep torts, and would be good boys and listen. The other options out there aren't desperate enough to allow this to happen

Don't forget pronger even said the power structure within the franchise is weird and made absolutely no sense

I’d be okay with choosing to keep Seeler at $2.5M for two years over the draft pick we’d probably return for him, but anything over $3M AAV and I take whatever I can get from a trade.

I’m not going to blame Seeler for wanting to take the only chance he’s ever had to cash in.

I will blame the front office for considering him an own rental if that’s what they do.

It’s obviously not all net pay but Capfriendly has him down for $3.4M in career earnings to this point. Guy might triple that with this upcoming contract which is probably a position neither him nor his agency probably thought that he’d be in a year or so ago.

This is a guy in situation that absolutely has to max out as much as possible here & you can’t blame him personally.

As long as the Flyers aren't the ones to do it.
