Same exact drivel he's been saying for a year.Summary?
Same exact drivel he's been saying for a year.Summary?
If they don't trade two people to get actual value returns (any two people, IDGAF who) this is an even bigger joke of an organization than I thought. I think they will. I think the talk is just puffery before the deadline but perhaps I am giving too much credit to an organization that I said I would no longer give the benefit of the doubt, but I'm ready to be disappointed again and go back to cheering for the Ottawa Girouxs. If York is out long term and Fisto for a month or so, I really doubt they trade Walker. Instead they’ll probably trade Laughton (assuming they can get a first) while swapping a 4th for a generic 4C who is at least a lineup upgrade over Nic D.
The forwards would then look something like:
Farabee-Couts-TK
Tippett-Frost-Foerster
Cates-Poehling-Atkinson
?-deadline acquisition-Hathaway
The ? could be any of Desnoyer, Allison, Gardiner or, heaven forbid, Nic the plug
However, if Couts is out longterm, they might realize that they are pretty much f***ed and move Laughton plus the expiring vets.

Basically, Briere said they'd like to keep Walker, but have to evaluate everything. They absolutely want to get out of the make-the-playoffs-miss-the-playoffs cycle and build a team that can contend yearly for the Cup.
Look, Beef, trades are hard.I'm sure this is just posturing. After all, when is the last time that this management group failed to trade someone?
I find this hilarious because they are basically describing the identical process that led to us still having Laughton and Risto in the first place.32 Thoughts pod: “The Big Poker Game”
Jeff speculates about whether or not the Risto injury changes what the Flyers do, if they do anything at all now, and that perhaps the injury is long-term.
Elliotte says that they are talking with and about Seeler and Walker. The trade price on Seeler is ‘very high,’ teams taking that to mean that they want him to sign. If they can’t move Risto now, they better make sure Walker is out there, but they do want him back too.
Basically it’s boiling down to who says yes first, player(s) or team(s). If either Seeler or Walker say yes to the number first, they will be signed. Seems like the move Briere was wanting to happen was on Risto and not Walker.
Laughton: jeff wonders about the Sabres, essentially because they’re in a position to overpay on prospects, and it’s what the Flyers want. Elliotte wonders about the Rangers. He sees Lindholm and Monahan prices as rentals as raising the price for Laughton since he has term
If they sign Walker, they have to trade Risto. Which sounds a lot better at the draft. But by the draft we can decide having 4 RHD is actually good and someone will be calling at next years deadline. Which is fine, but you need depth for next year’s playoff run, so you might as well hold and even for the draft when you can just try and see about….I find this hilarious because they are basically describing the identical process that led to us still having Laughton and Risto in the first place.
The beauty of this franchise continually operating based on circular logic is that it means we are always at the beginningIf they sign Walker, they have to trade Risto. 16 phonecalls is alot you know...Look, Beef, trades are hard.
Walker needs to be gone, priority #1. Not that he is that bad or anything but he is valuable and useless to the team the next few years. Just get rid of him. Ugh I hate this team.32 Thoughts pod: “The Big Poker Game”

That was a quote from Pierre LeBrun in the article.Personally, I don’t see a world in which a rebuilding team like the Flyers can afford to lose Walker for nothing on July 1, no matter where they are in the standings right now. That’s why I think a trade is more likely than not.
Guaranteed resultsi'm gonna be in tears from laughter if they make no moves at the deadline..then go on to collapse and miss the POs
