Is there an easy way to see how much Deslauriers has tanked Hathaway's numbers this season?
In short, not really. But if I had to guess, I would venture to say quite a bit. I would also say playing with Laughton and Poehling has hurt his offensive numbers as well. Here's what Hathaway's combined analytical profile looked like for the last three prior to joining the Flyers this season.

A lot of the sites to which I sub try to isolate the stats to the individual. And, during that process they attempt to isolate impacts to the individual. But I hold the personal believe that's not completely possible, because you're effect is also contingent on who you are playing with. It's been shown that your teammates affect shooting rates more than who you play against, but both have impacts on individual shooting rates.

You can look at NST's line tool and see how Hathaway compares when he's on the ice with Deslauriers and without for a bit more information.

We get it. The flyers will never change. The sky is falling. At least let the season unfold before the constant negativity about the direction the team is heading.

Legitimately I agree with most of the posters here on having a full on tank and rebuild. But let the season play out before taking a dump on the current regime.

I look at it as the next few years are a wash before Michkov makes the jump. Hopefully by then we have some more skilled pieces in the mix and have our starting goalie situation locked in.

Right now I’m hoping for a win over the leafs that rolls into a competitive outdoor game with the devils….ill be there freezing my ass off during it so i wanna see some competitive hockey.

After that game I hope they make some trades and the wheels fall off, ultimately leading to a lottery pick…which we win and draft a #1 center prospect….

I could see Walker as a buy-low cap-dump that Danny targeted. Danny appears to be a bit more on the analytical side (his discussions with TK using analytics to show TK from where to shoot, signing Poehling and Hathaway - both of these guys had good underlying metrics), and Walker had decent numbers prior to his injury last season.

I just think most people want to hit the ground running with some youth when Michkov gets here rather than having an old aging team that is middle of the pack, and then we do a full tear down.

I really think we can gain some serious assets at the trade deadline this year, I just hope they haven't been lying to us the last 2 months

Friedman on Jeff Marek Show:

- While he does think it is possible we do nothing, Friedman doesn't really think Ristolainen's injury is a problem for the deadline if he's only out a month.

- There has been a lot of talk about Walker, but thinks we want to keep him. Prices are high on our guys.

- Center price is high for Laughton. Friedman hesitated for a moment but then says he wonders about Laughton and the Rangers.

- Mentions that we want to keep Walker and Seeler, but it has to make sense. Then surprisingly he also put Konecny in the "It has to make sense" category, too.

I think they move players out but I am not expecting anything major. I could see Walker traded in the final hour of deadline day when GMs get desperate
They keep saying the right things regarding the long-term view but I will believe it when I see it. It is even reasonably defendable considering their position in the standings and with the LT injury to Ristolainen.

Look at Curtis Lazar’s isolates this year if you want to have your mind blown. Where the hell did that come from?

Leafs defense was one of the worst I've ever seen in the NHL. They aren't doing shit in the playoffs.

Nothing we haven't already heard.

Their goal is to build a team that can compete for the Cup every year.

They didn't expect to be in playoff position at this point of the season, but it's a good "problem" to have.

They want to avoid the cycle of miss the playoffs, make the playoffs, miss the playoffs.

Teams are calling about their players and it's their duty to listen.

Briere, Jones, and Torts are doing their best to communicate with their players about the potential for trades, as it can be distracting this time of year to read your name in rumors and not know what's going on.
