Flyers on the 32 Thoughts pod:

-Signing Konecny is a priority and they want to make him a ‘lifetime Flyer.’ He can’t sign until July 1, but I’ve listened to this pod long enough and the way they talk about things they know are happening to say that I think this is close to done or is done.

-Jeff opined that the Flyers may opt to sign Walker and ostensibly means that Risto must be traded. Teams are very interested, moving parts in the contract is one thing, but Elliotte said one team that likes him said that the way that he’s been utilized here and given advantageous situations that because of the way we play and how he has to, that it makes more sense in the offseason where teams have a training camp to assimilate him as opposed to mid-season when it’s so hard to practice.

-The writing is on the wall with Laughton. They said if he hadn’t signed the extension in 2021, he would’ve been traded to Toronto. Jeff speculates that Buffalo is a fit in the offseason.

While Walker should be traded for a first rounder, if possible, I'd much rather have him than Risto, even if Risto pulls in a lower return.

Laughton, yeah, I think is done. Still have no f***ing clue how he's the only one with an A or C on his jersey...

Trading Walker is the easiest slam dunk trade a re-building team can make.

We are not re-building.
Just goes to show management is rotten to the core and there won't be any real change to the team until everyone at the top is swept out.

But hey, culture and what not. The farg may be packed again but those fans aren't gonna see a Stanley cup team for a long time

Of course they're going to extend TK, he's a legitimate first line forward and he's a "rat" like Marchand. We all hate Marchand, but if we could have obtained him, we'd had lined up to welcome him to Philly!

Teams full of 20-25 year old players don't go anywhere, people forget that Chicago went out and added Hossa (31), Sharp (28), Campbell (30), Madden (36) when they won their first cup.

No problem 3 years from now with Couts (34), TK (29), Sanheim (30) as our veterans.

Risto's stock will stay high, he's a legitimate defensive defenseman now (all the metrics point to him being above average) and a big RHD. Won't even have to retain, just take a bad contract back and bury it.

Why would any team want a $5.1m 3rd pairing dman who needs special treatment just to be non-terrible.

Huge mistake if they don't move walker and wait to move Risto. Don't let teams see him in camp...move him while his stock is high.
I don't get why his stock is high. Compare his defensive results to Seeler, who has been given similar usage this season and only makes $775,000.

Seeler: 52 GP, 14:49 ES TOI, 2.1 GA/60

Risto: 30 GP, 15:09 ES TOI, 2.9 GA/60

Right now Seeler looks like he's playing injured. Doesn't have the same jump he did earlier on

On the recent STG episode ASF said if the Flyers get an offer similar to the one at the draft that they were offered for Laughton (1st rounder+) this deadline he thinks they’ll pull the trigger this time around. However he doesn’t think that offer comes around this time. So he ultimately thinks Laughton stays.
The funny thing is he never ever stated that the first was really in play. They always said it wasnt a first or maybe a first in a huge trade with more players involved. Now the first was in play when he needs it for his argument. These guys are CLOWNS....
