Apparently DeBrincat is available. Would anyone do a swap of Konecny for DeBrincat? He's a year younger and would be someone for the left side.
Nah. DeBrincat is an RFA with a $9M qualifying offer.Apparently DeBrincat is available. Would anyone do a swap of Konecny for DeBrincat? He's a year younger and would be someone for the left side.

No. You trade TK for assets to help the rebuild, not a player who's a worse fit.Apparently DeBrincat is available. Would anyone do a swap of Konecny for DeBrincat? He's a year younger and would be someone for the left side.
I remember when the Flyers had good exciting teams that had rivalries with a few clubs. But it’s hard to form rivalries when you suck, play boring hockey and all your former rivals have lapped you many times over and are much better than you. Nothing is going to change because they will never bring in someone from the outside who understands todays game.Do you guys remember when the Flyers had rivalries with teams?
They're such a joke now that all of those rivalries have evaporated. Those teams just smack the shit out of these guys and move on. The only rivals the Flyers have are the Flyers
Take him. Draft picks. Take them allHow available is Farabee? and for what?

He's not available. We'd be selling low on a 23 year old who was 42nd in 5x5 scoring from age 19-21, who had an off year due to neck surgery. How available is Farabee? and for what?

This is not true. Briere has been very direct that anybody can be had if you come and get them. He's not available. We'd be selling low on a 23 year old who was 42nd in 5x5 scoring from age 19-21, who had an off year due to neck surgery.
I expect him to bounce back and exceed his first few seasons with an offseason where he can add strength.
The younger the player, the bigger the overpay has to be.This is not true. Briere has been very direct that anybody can be had if you come and get them.
That wasn’t the question. The younger the player, the bigger the overpay has to be.
Farabee has 1st line upside, who's going to give us that kind of value?

Takes a special person to destroy 2 organizations. Will he get a shot at a trifecta?
Ridiculous statement.Takes a special person to destroy 2 organizations. Will he get a shot at a trifecta?
Holmgren leaves a team that rode a strong second half to an unlikely playoff berth, but which also has gaping holes to fill and very little cap room. The Flyers have $64.5 million committed next season (against a cap expected to top out at $69 million) for the salaries of just 17 players (10 forwards, six defensemen, one goalie). Brayden Schenn, Jason Akeson and Tye McGinn are RFAs who'll need new deals, and there's a decision to be made on 39-year-old defenseman Kimmo Timonen.
Holmgren also left Hextall with a decision to make on the future of Vincent Lecavalier. The veteran center was a lousy fit under new coach Craig Berube and still has four years left on a deal that pays him $4.5 million annually. He could part of the first trade Hextall has to make.
well there doesn't have to be any overpay. If the deal makes sense you make it. To go into any deal saying it has to be an overpay is a terrible way to do business. The younger the player, the bigger the overpay has to be.
Farabee has 1st line upside, who's going to give us that kind of value?
Hextall - .553 P% (20th) and two playoff appearances in four+ years
Fletcher - .529 P% (23rd) and one playoff appearance in four+ years
"The cupboards are full. There's a tremendous amount of prospects. This year, we have nine draft picks [in the seven rounds]. We have cap space, and we have good players. There's everything here to be successful."With ‘cupboards full,’ new GM Chuck Fletcher will try to turn Flyers around
Like his predecessor Ron Hextall, the Flyers new general manager says the draft is the key.www.inquirer.com
If you're rebuilding, you don't trade young players for draft picks (unless we're talking top 3). Makes no sense to trade someone who's a NHL player for a draft pick that might be a NHL player 3 years from now.well there doesn't have to be any overpay. If the deal makes sense you make it. Flyers players will not be in demand. doesn't mean they don't have value.
any and everyone is on the table as they have zero untouchables, never said just draft choices. You can make a hockey trade. Get a prospect or even "younger" player who is still on an ELC as an example. If you're rebuilding, you don't trade young players for draft picks (unless we're talking top 3).
