Boy, you wish they put on the full court press to move Ristolainen’s shit contract. Not a peep about trading him. Then again, he’s the only minutes gobbler on the roster.
You know that’s a big scarlett letter for them. I think Tony is also but he has more crap surrounding him so they can easily trade him away. Risto just sucks which makes them look bad. Bad trade followed by the extension for a bad player is not a great face for an organization that prides themselves on “hard hitting all around defensemen”.

Sorry I mean “hard to play against”

Briere could give a shit. But right now Risto is difficult to move and there's no urgency.
If Shaw can improve Risto's defensive positioning, next summer with 3x5 he'd be much easier to move.

It will be an underwhelming return. I have faith Briere will make deal/s we can support with the goal of making this team a contender 3+\- years from now. But given his predecessors penchant for being taken in every trade, there are 31 other GMs testing the waters on a newbie. Likely the best deals will be made with contention teams that fail to make a trade during the draft or strike out in free agency. Patience and if that doesn’t work out… pitchforks.

Great way to get a fanbase that’s checked out to pay attention again. Prove me wrong that this isn’t some marketing BS, and they think the above statement isn’t true.

Gonna be great when teams ditch dealing with the Flyers because it risks outing rumors about their own players they don't want out, just for this PR blitz.

Hard to stomach…

DB making the same mistake as CF - overvaluing his assets and holding out for more. Sometimes you have to take what you can get and move on because the status quo is not an option
I don't get the sense that Briere is holding out for huge value in the Hayes or DeAngelo deals. I get the sense there are very few possible takers for either one and he knows he isn't going to get much, if any, value in return. But NTCs and contract issues are making it hard to complete deals even once the GMs have agreed on the pieces.
