Jones is President.Boy, you wish they put on the full court press to move Ristolainen’s shit contract. Not a peep about trading him. Then again, he’s the only minutes gobbler on the roster.

That’s as bad of a defensive unit as you’ll see in the NHLBriere has been adamant about this being a 3-5 year rebuild, and your needs five years from now could be completely different.
They can always sign another veteran RHD in FA on a short-term deal if they think they need another body.
Plus, let's see how the roster looks by Wednesday, they may pick up another prospect or two.
Risto was in our top four, I doubt Seeler will be.
York, Walker, Risto, ??? (probably Zamula).
Seeler - Attard
Grans, Ginning, Andrae.
But so are Provorov and Sanheim. Sanheim was a 2nd pair here, and Provorov will be a 2nd pair in CBJ.
The difference is so far York seems to be able to play with different partners, which makes it easier to build a defense with him - and remember, he played RHD as a rookie after being a LHD for most of his college career. So that adds to his value.
If this is your definition of scorched earth, then no team has ever gone scorched earth beforeIt ain't scorched earth unless they trade Farabee, Frost, Tippett, Foerster and Cates.

Starting to feel it
It's what the Blackhawks did, trading DeBrincat (24), letting Strome (24) walk as a FA, trading Hagel (23), Dach (21).If this is your definition of scorched earth, then no team has ever gone scorched earth before
so who is the top prospect for next years draft?

I reckon those were either players the organization soured on, contract issues, or players the organization didn’t see as a big part in their future. It's what the Blackhawks did, trading DeBrincat (24), letting Strome (24) walk as a FA, trading Hagel (23), Dach (21).
There’s no way I’d move Farabee yet. The guy just wasn’t right coming off back surgery. I’m not selling low on a guy like that.I reckon those were either players the organization soured on, contract issues, or players the organization didn’t see as a big part in their future.
For the players of the Flyers you mentioned, I wouldn’t be adverse to kicking the tires on a Farabee trade. He’s been plateaued for a few years. If he doesn’t improve next year he will probably be seen as the player he is with the young player shine worn off
Ghost was exciting in 2015-16, excellent in 2017-18 until the playoffs, and since then . . .
He's the poster child for undersized players breaking down, tears ACL first pro season, then the groin, scoped both knees.
It'll be interesting to see what he gets offered in free agency.
Shame is the player he was in college was something special.
They don't need a "scorched earth" rebuild, for one thing, we know even if they finish last, no way they win the lottery.
They just need to garner a bunch of draft picks and prospects and build a team, not half ass it the way Hextall did.
I hope that you’re right about Reinbacher. If they select him at seven, I could live with that but I prefer them taking a center instead to help create a top line with GauthierBriere has been adamant about this being a 3-5 year rebuild, and your needs five years from now could be completely different.

That’s so Chuck Fletcher thinking. They obviously don’t need the cap space to acquire good players toward building a winning team now, but a smart rebuilding team uses cap space to absorb bad contracts with their fee being draft capital. They didn’t get a first and two seconds in the Provorov trade because he’s that valuable a player or because Danny is a nice guy. Provorov wasn’t worth that much. It’s because in lieu of a valuable player he (instantly) used the cap space to take on two bad contracts. LA paid the Flyers in draft capital. Having cap space in the future, say at the trade deadline, can yield even more draft picks or even a young disgruntled player. What could a rebuilding team with cap space do if Jason Robertson demanded a trade? Clayton Keller is unhappy. The point is the cap space is an asset, even for a rebuilding team.Cap space is an asset if you're a good team. The Flyers don't need to clear any cap space for anything
They've traded Provorov. They're trading Hayes and TDA. They're looking at trading Sanheim, and thinking of moving Hart. That's not just scorched earth, that's glassed earth.
Gauthier has been playing center no? I know that’s where he says he feels most comfortable. I think DB wants him there too.I hope that you’re right about Reinbacher. If they select him at seven, I could live with that but I prefer them taking a center instead to help create a top line with Gauthier
Isn't that what we've all hoped for?
Despite all the massive negativity that's been here for years at least the new front office at least sees major changes are necessary. They could screw this up badly but at least they got step 1 right and it should at least make things interesting for a little bit around here.Yes. A someone is claiming that isn't scorched earth.
yea Risto is solid golden...Jones is President.
