Fair.

How the heck to you beat a Dodgers team with Soto for the Chip though?

That is one hell of a scary team. They will prob pick up Ohtani next year.

That's true but at least you'd be in the world series with a chance.

Yankees get Soto and they could easily be a even more dominant force the next 3-5 years right when the Jays are supposed to be winning.

Soto would absolutely abuse the RF short porch.

Good point!

I am worried as a Jays fan. I could see Ohtani going to the Yanks or Dodgers next year. Especially if Soto goes to LA this year, the Yanks would look to counter on Ohtani (or the Padres)

But we do have a ton of good talent coming up over the next year or two, hopefully that translates (along with some solid moves)

Luckily we are really improving the organization and ball park, plus we are filthy rich lol

Ya, probably. At least he took a stance. You love to see the hot takes of "X player is drawing interest from these teams, he may be traded but they also may keep him".
🤣

The Morosi and Olney special.

Who in particular would they want to sell off if I'm following here? Don't think I have seen anything.

Astros looking to move Odorizzi but there has been chatter about Urquidy for an improvement at CF/catcher. Would need a bigger arm like Garcia/Javier for Jansen though. They need to free up a spot for McCullers.

Padres are extending Musgrove, but Manaea and Clevinger are free agents at the end of the year and Snell has 1 more year but hasn’t really performed well to date (underlying stats are good though. Could be a nice rebound candidate a la Robbie Ray. They’ve been running a 6 man rotation and have moved Gore and Martinez in and out of the bullpen/SP role.

To that end the Blue Jays’ focuses, according to another industry source, appeared to be on adding a starter and two relief pieces, with a lean toward the rental side.

Must be hard to make trades when everyone is steadfastly insisting on asking for Moreno or Tiedman in every trade (or Martinez, but I don't think he's worth coveting...unless you mean the outfielder, in which case he is). Adkins alluded to as much when he said the asking prices are "too high".

Sorry, folks, but we might have to accept a universe where we have to trade Moreno (or Kirk). Jansen's return seems to be having a large effect on stabilizing the rotation, so it's probably not the best idea to trade him. And I believe Moreno will ultimately be the better overall player in the long run. And we simply can't trade Tiedman. That's exactly the kind of player we need going forward.

What have you actually seen of Moreno and Tiedemann to come to this conclusion?

I’m a bit surprised we haven’t even made one move yet. I guess teams are asking about our top guys with everyone

i wonder if we have tabled offers and teams are just waiting to se if we get outbid.

so who's going to take the orioles trade bait. ( think if Pittsburgh's price is to high for bednar and reynolds ) wonder what the ask is for mullins and one of the bp arms

k.c, boston ,detroit, l.a.a, oakland a.l sellers or should be

chi sox and cleveland you never know what they will do till the end.

nats marlins, reds pirates, cubs, giants rockies and dbacks nl sellers

phillies the wild card . could sell off

lots of sellers that should offset the sky high pricing

Good targets for the Jays.

Starting pitchers:
- Pablo Lopez
- Frankie Montas
- Tyler Mahle
- Noah Syndergaard
- Jose Quintana
- Martin Perez

Bullpen:
- Joe Jimenez
- Michael Fulmer
- David Robertson
- Scott Barlow
- Joe Mantiply
- Mychel Givens
- Daniel Bard

Position:
- Ian Happ

I don't see Juan Soto, Shohei Ohtani or David Bednar being realistic at all tbh

Heyman reports we’re in on Happ (lefty bat that we need) but he is getting a ton of interest from other clubs. Atkins is either going to have to pay a price he doesn’t like this year or get left out. It’s a sellers market
