Not that I want him but they arent specific so; Otto Lopez, Bradley Zimmer, Jeremy Beasley and $1.

So basically looks like nothing is happening. Like I said the ask is a lot from teams cause it’s a sellers market. There’s no point in trading a guy off our roster just to balance the lineup it could f*** to the whole chemistryRosenthal just released an article and here is what he said regarding us.
-it doesn't look like we are strongly in the mix for Soto, and we might not add a left handed bat at all.
-we seem to focusing on relivers with swing and miss stuff.
-in regards to potentially adding a Left bat, Jays might have to trade a Right bat from the lineup and thats tough to do. Jays also don't want to hurt the chemistry in the club house, and Gurriel and Teoscar and 2 of the more popular guys on the team.
Meh it's just credible info but doesn't mean nothing will happen. Our deals come from out of the blue anyways. So basically looks like nothing is happening. True, but it seems the whole market is stuck right now. So many guys are available but no deals are being made. I think until the whole Soto situation is figured out or dealt with it’s going to be like this. Also f*** Seattle for being the only team to go out and literally give their farm for Castillo when the market wasn’t even set yet. Now every single team is asking for a top 5 prospect. Nothing Seattle has done in the last 20 years has made any senseMeh it's just credible info but doesn't mean nothing will happen. Our deals come from out of the blue anyways.
3 top 5 prospects for a guy you have control for 1.5 years… when the previous trade was Benentendi to NY.True, but it seems the whole market is stuck right now. So we mix up the chemistry just to have a different look in the lineup which ultimately doesn’t mean squat in the overall upgrade of the team. I mean Gurriel and Happ are very similar just one bats left one bats right. My thing is how are we upgrading this team?I do think chemistry matters but I don't like the idea of not trading a guy because he's "popular" in the club house. The Raptors traded Derozan and won a championship. If trading one of Teo or Gurriel for their left-handed equivalent would help us win I dont care how fun they are in the clubhouse.
If I’m going to mix up the chemistry and the mojo of the team it’s going to be a lot bigger than taking a main stay in Gurriel and just replacing him with HappSo we mix up the chemistry just to have a different look in the lineup which ultimately doesn’t mean squat in the overall upgrade of the team. I don't mean to criticize, amd just wondering half of your posts seem to be quoting an earlier part of the same post to add something to it. Just curious why that's happening. Are you trying to edit but hitting quote instead of edit?So we mix up the chemistry just to have a different look in the lineup which ultimately doesn’t mean squat in the overall upgrade of the team. To me it just looks like we’re going to add some relievers. This whole Soto situation has screwed over the whole deadline

Exactly. If it's a Soto deal and you need to include Gurriel or something, then sure. But for Happ? Or even someone like Bryan Reynolds? If you move out Gurriel or Teoscar for a guy like that, you might make the team slightly better, but I don't even know if it's worth it. It's an attempt to get more left-handed at the expense of everything else, which is really dumb when the players in question don't have significant splits. (Plus you still have to play Tapia a ton, so you're not even covering for a Springer injury.)I don't think you trade a Gurriel for example just to have more lefties if they are equal talent level. That would not be popular in the clubhouse and not make us better. But I think the original point was we can't pass on getting better for fear of some getting sad.

Roster players or not, Happ would replace one of those two in the lineup and the difference is negligible at best to be even making the trade. Soto is worth it because his bat > Teo or Gurriel. Happ's bat isn't that and the "need" he would fill is already covered by Teo and Gurriel. That’s insane if the Cubs are asking for Gurriel or Hernandez in a trade for Happ. I didn’t think you need to give up roster players for Ian Happ.

They already have the DH spot for that in addition to giving guys games off. A fully healthy Jays lineup would feature Happ on the bench.I just thought an Ian Happ would give guys nights off from fielding. He wouldn’t be taking at bats away from anyone. And also provide Springer insurance.
