Thank you!! Yes, I'm desperately hoping this forecast improves. I have 4 weather sites up on my computer at work and can barely focus. Luckily my boss knows my head will be elsewhere this week ;)

It's good luck if it rains on your wedding day/night.

But of course I hope you get clear weather and have a great night.
Best of luck bud!

Haha thanks dude! But on the rain, I feel like that's just what people say to make the bride/groom feel better about rain haha
On your wedding day, suck it all in..... Its likely the fastest day of your life!! Before you know it, "SNAP" its all over and you're like, "Holy crap, what just happened?"

Plus, its one of, if not the only days in your life where you get to have all your friends and everyone together.

Enjoy it, try not to let the small things stress you and the soon to be Mrs out. Inevitably, something will not go as exactly planned... I am sure any one of us here can give at least one interesting story about their wedding day!!!

Thanks for the kind words! I'm doing my best to not let the weather stress me out. I'm starting to take the approach of "I don't care if everyone is cold and wet. We are going to do this damn ceremony outside whatever the weather is!"

I've been asking a lot of different people as to their top piece of advice for a happy marriage, and "Yes Dear" seems to be #1. If anyone else has advice, feel free to share!

You can't make this stuff up...haven't earned my buck tag yet and at 6:45 this guy walks up and lays down 10 yards directly in front of me...Artemis has been playing tricks on me. I hate EAB.

At least you have a buck to look at. Haven't seen a buck other than spikes on film since mid-August.

And after going out the Saturday before last, I made the decision to "quit" until EAB ends. I'll be out there dark and early, October 1st. Bought a sweet Cabela's dehydrator, now it just needs some tasty venison.

Congratulations!

I echo these sentiments. The day is surreal. Take time to absorb it because it goes so fast. Get pictures done before the wedding (that is if she isn't insistent on seeing her before she walks down the aisle) or you will miss an hour of your own party.

Most people aren't going to remember the minor details, except maybe your wife. I don't remember the minor details. I remember that my DJ sucked but the ceremony, food, and booze were phenomenal.

Sorry about the impending rain event, but take it all in stride.

Last night was the night to be in the woods. You seem to be a weather buff...try this 12 to 24 hours before an approaching front, keep track of the deer activity in your area. Also keep an eye on pressure systems - I find a pressure system in the Ohio valley, which is typically 24 hours before it moves into this area is another trigger for ravenous eating.

North East storms seem to be the best from my notes. It doesn't even need to be much of a storm... with weather coming it almost always means good movement prior to the arrival. https://www.windfinder.com/forecast/round-valley-reservoir I use this site a lot. If you look at the wind forecast, after tonight the wind is steadily out of the East for Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Monday and probably today as well are going to be good days and things should slow until Sunday when things come back to their normal westerly direction or shift out of the east . Sunday morning would be the day I try to get out again(no Sunday hunting on park land). These are just my observation over the years.

Does anyone have a good method on how to separate tiny gold pieces from sand. I seem to have found a lot of gold, but its in tiny particles. Frustrating to get out. I tried the gold pan method but the gold doesn't want to comply. I don't want to waste the pay dirt.

Isn't that what panning is for?

You are absolutely right on the old rain saying! Lol

Echoing what others have said but definitely do whatever you can to take in the night and enjoy as many moments as you can. Definitely the fastest day of our lives and the years after that just hobby even faster. My wife and I just shared our 5th Anniversary last weekend and we both seriously said.... it's been 5 years already?!?

For my 5 years of wisdom I part with you this.... a relationship working counts on compromise from both parties involved but.... never forget.... Happy wife, happy life.

I got the dirt along the Fraser while panning, so just the tiny pieces of powdered gold remain. Got the gold along the banks already and it has been sifted through. Brought a few buckets home.

Watched this guys video and it takes a long time with the sand I currently have. Looking for a quicker method.

The gold I have is exactly shown as the video above but his is only black sand. Mine is a mixture of black sand and tiny stones. I did not use a sluice in the first place.

The sand in my pan looks more like this with the gold mixed in.

Wait a second...You live near or around the Fraser River??? Like in the same area as the Skeena, Dean and Thompson Rivers?

You live near one of the great steelhead fisheries in the world and you never mentioned this before?

Metro Vancouver area. But the place where I went panning was near Chilliwack. Typically if I fish it is for trout in and around the area. All those rivers you mention are near Prince Rupert and that is around 400 miles away from where I am.Have you been to Stewart BC along the Alaskan Border. That place is a gem. Actually the majority of BC has spectacular scenery.

Here is a picture along the Dean river/lodge area. Looks like a great area.

It angers me that **** like this can even happen. Don't they have fail-safe brakes they can install on the tracks at the station if its going above a certain speed? Looking at the pics it had to have been going at least 40mph to cause that kind of damage.

Some of the trains on the NJ Transit are really outdated. Multiple car doors on the train I take into and out of Newark every day don't work. If the brake system was in a similar state of (dis)repair on the train that crashed, I sadly understand why it happened. NJ deserves a better transit system.
