So much wrong in that post and that is exactly my point, that thinking does not help. Bunch of misinformed information and assumptions. Research all of the violent Christian groups around the world and throughout history. Research the hundreds of millions of peaceful people who practice Islam and not radical Islam. Research the hundreds of thousands of Muslims who are being killed by terrorism. Go to the Middle East and tell Muslim families who are being killed by terrorists that their religion is the problem. Go ask my half of the family who are from Lebanese descent and some who still practice this religion how they feel living in this country. I'll answer that for you, they sometimes feel unwelcomed but they love this country. They'll laugh of you tel them that they are accommodated.

This isn't be politically correct, its being CORRECT on how to treat people and how to include people in solving problems.

If you think that Christians are as violent as Muslims, I think it is you who are misinformed, and if you think that America and Europe don't accomodate Muslims to a far better degree than Muslim majority counties accomodate Christians and other Muslims, I think you are burying your head in the sand.

My Catholic and Irish ancestors were also subject to discrimination and hate crimes, but they didn't blow anyone else up. Heck, as a Catholic, I'm still subject to liberal media hating on me for my beliefs (which are far less radical than Muslims, but it's always okay to be anti-Catholic) but I don't blow people up.

No society is going to be perfect, but America and Europe treat Muslims and everyone else far better than the Muslim majority countries do. The fact that America isn't a utopia doesn't give Muslims license to blow everyone up.

All right guys, that's it, you've made your points. This is a very touchy subject, I have a lot to say about this as I'm sure others as well but it doesn't belong here.

I never said there were the same number of violent Christian groups. But there is a large number and some of the worst attacks in this country have been from these groups. I never said Irish, Italian and other immigrant groups didn't have it rough. They did and they were also problems in the mid to late 1800s and early 1900s. Research it. There were rampant anti-Irish and anto-Italianism when they immigrated over and a huge crime wave swamped NYC during that time with robberies, killings and riots. They were problems with the Irish and Italians then and now we have problems with a faction of Muslims who are being self radicalized now. Your argument points are incohorent and don't make sense and have no substance. The bottomline is we have to be less divisive, or more and more of these nutjobs will have more incentive to self radicalize. How is that so hard of a concept to grasp? This notion is agreed upon by all parties in government, accepted by leaders in Germany England and France. Alienating will lead to more problems.

And stop mentioning the media in your arguments. I dont care what the media says. I make my own conclusions on my own reaearch. I have a passion in poli-sci and world history. I doubled majored in geography and history at Rutgers. All of my opinions are based on my own research and knowledge. I couldnt care less what the liberal media says on msnbc and cnn and couldnt care less what right wing garbage fox news shovels upon us. I am an independent for this reason. Now we shifted into politics. We will now take a break from our ongoing HF feud and shift to disagreeing on hockey discussions. :sarcasm:

Anyways the politics section of the forum has a lot of arguing on this subject.

In other news physical comic books sales are at their highest level of sales in 20 years. Digital did not really destroy the physical comic industry as was thought early on. Harley Quinn seems to be a number one fan favourite at the moment.

Maybe that explains the presence of a new comic book shop in my downtown.

I was wondering what was up with that.

Who else in North Jersey heard the LOUD F15s overhead this morning?

Apparently some idiot flew into the No-Fly zone and the fighter jets responded at a very low altitude.

That's how I woke up on 9/11, with fighter jets at low altitude over my apartment. Except it was worse because there were 3 or 4 of them and they broke the sound barrier soon after.

I lived less than 3 miles from the airport that has the Air National Guard (F-16s).

I used to work across the highway from the Wisconsin ANG. They had two F-16s, which were impressively loud, even at cruising speed. I can't imagine what it would've sounded like if they were trying to get somewhere in a hurry.

My windows rattled each time one broke the sound barrier, and pictures on the wall went crooked. Some crap on shelves, etc.. vibrated. It's pretty amazing, the power.

When will we learn. These communities need to come together and work together not freaking divide and burnn them down. Amazing, 60 years of this and a middle ground can not be found.

Sad world we live in. Bombs and looting. Terror and violence. (But if you want my opinion on BLM, you have to PM me, since I don't want to go into politics again.)

Agreed.

This is why I really don't even care to get into politics anymore. I have a few beliefs, nothing too strong though.

Just seeing my friends facebook wall with all these political posts, then having replies by friends of theirs with opposing views ''No it's not, you're wrong, screw you, **** you! I'm deleting you!''. I don't use facebook, but I'm glad I don't have to read through stuff like that. And I don't mean the political posts, because I believe everyone has the right to believe what they want. But I'm glad that I don't have to read through the replies from people with opposing viewpoints.

I was on a forum years ago, where one poster was belittling someone for having different political views than a majority of the members. He said ''**** you'' about 3 or 4 times in this post. The most embarrassing thing was this guy was supposedly all about peace and love and all that, yet he constantly cyber bullied this one girl on there.

Yeah, I try to stay away from talking politics too. People get way too extreme way too fast these days (and it's not just politics where this happens either). It's like if you have a different viewpoint you're automatically "the enemy". Calm, rational discussion seems to be happening less and less. Which is a real shame because that's the only way things are going to change in a positive manner.

It seems more people are into political things now than ever before, which isn't necessarily a bad thing.

But I find there's a lot of borderline extremism, where people on either side can't seem to say things without pissing off more than a few people on the other side. One friend of mine, had someone say ''That's BS! Now you're getting blocked!'' after he posted something disparaging about a particular political figure. I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't actually seen the post. I've also seen people on twitter saying things and then when someone disagrees, the person will say ''GTFO! Now you're blocked!'' or something like that. I find it amusing and pathetically sad at the same time.
