Don't think need to be terrified. Difference is they need us to lose. If we win 3 of 5 in ROW, they have to go 4-0. I don't think they can do that with games at Ottawa and vs. Boston. Even if we go 2-2-1, they would need 3-1 in ROW.

We are 8-1 vs. NYI, PHO, DAL, TB and FLA...I would hope we could get 6 more points out of them. Florida's 2-8-0 and been outscored 35-16 in their last 10. Seems like that should be 2 there.

Bottom line is that if we can't beat the NYI at home tomorrow, an awful Florida team in the last game of the year, and scrape together some combination of 2 or 3 pts total from the other 3 games, we have no business being in the playoffs.

I took yet another look at the schedules remaining. I think its between us and NJ. Devils have 3 should wins or 6 pts for 90.

We have 2 should wins for 89 pts. Then need 2 pts from the other three. We play both Phoenix and Dallas who might come down to their head to head in the last game of the season to decide #8 in the West. And Tampa Bay. Not an easy point in any of those three games and surely not an easy 2. Throw in 5 games in 8 days, some travel,2 btb's, no Foligno and it all sets up for a quintessential Jacket moment.

Hopefully NJ stubs its toe to help the situation. I'm nervous.

Today's game is critically critical.

Being in the middle of a playoff race with Phoenix and Dallas is really bad. Don't forget the Yzerman factor in Tampa. I'm sure he'd love nothing better than to stick it to the Jackets; Jersey trending toward 90 with a ROW of 37. We should finish with 91 with a ROW of 37. Points need to come from NYI, FLA and 2 points out of the remaining 3 games (someway, somehow) A loss today drops the trend to 89 and leaves us on the outside looking in.

This is a clear situation for Richards to put Joey on a line with both Frattin and Tropp. Move Prout up to a forward.

Portzline says no line changes from the Chicago game. Guess that Frattin experiment was impressive enough for HCTR.

Hopefully, we haven't traditionally drawn well on Sunday. We'll see

Looking at Ticketmaster, upper bowl looks fairly full, but lots of tickets left on the ends in the lower. Imagine there could be a decent student rush turnout. I'd guess attendance will be around 15,000. Bringing wife and kids to today's game - sure hope it's a fun evening. Building needs to be loud from the start as it's possible the Jackets come out sluggish after what happened on Friday.

Wife and I will be down there...upper bowl as usual:yo:

Might be more than usual with the "open house" they're having. Im wondering since I bought my tickets for next year if I can get the 2 free tickets to bring friends?

I think we can handle Dallas, they're a North-South team similar to the Leafs and we've had good success vs them. We also start with a 1-goal lead.Coyotes will be a tough affair, though.

Both tough, Phoenix feels like one of those trap games. Tuesday night against a desperate team who most think we should beat. Let in a soft one early and the energy will go from the building.

I'm afraid of Benn/Seguin. They could catch on fire and destroy any team. I think they said Benn has never played in the playoffs so I think he'll be hungry for a win.

As for Phoenix, is Smith still out? Who would we rather face, Smith, their number 1 or Greiss? Seems like we have trouble with back up goalies/back up goalies ends up playing great against us.

Sabres predictably not helping. Worst is, they play the Wings and the Rangers next. In case we hang on, it's gonna be the Big Bad Bruins in the 1st round.

Wings still have at Pens and at Blues. From the Pens point of view, do you want to face potentially Detroit or Columbus? My thought would be they'd prefer Columbus, so they would probably play tough game vs Detroit to help us and themselves out. Then I would expect Detroit to lose in St. Louis. So, if we can get 5 out of 8 final points, I think we stand a good chance of jumping them in wildcard.

PHX, Dallas and Tampa aren't going to lay down so we can make the playoffs... If Bob cracks in any of these games we lose.... The Jackets need to approach each game as if it's their last, and that includes dressing their best players in the organization..
