Should have been after the 2nd goal...................giving the other team a 4 spot, in two seperate games, before the game is 10 minutes old, is just plain brutal

In the words of Torts, a save now and then would be nice.

Dobes........also.

Different level prospects. Fowler is way higher.

Now that everyone is off the bandwagon, let’s look at what Monty actually is: a 1B Goalie at best.
Monty’s best professional save % season is 0.903 (this past season).
Over his entire career, he’s been in large majority under .900.
When you account for his entire career including juniors, he was over .900 only 4 of 12 seasons, His best ever being in his last LHJMQ season with .907. He’s never been dominant at any level.
Another stat: He’s NEVER been under 3.00 GAA in his entire professional career with the exception of one short 13 game AHL stint where he was 2.86 but with a 0.898.

I like Monty and I think he can he is a valuable asset in the right chair (1B at best, playing 30-35 games on a competitive team). But when you look at his track record, it’s unrealistic to think he can suddenly consistently hit top goalie numbers when he hasn’t the guy at any level.

Looks like he did under Ducharme so far this season.

Disappointing especially at the beginning of a new 3 yr deal.

Ends at the same time as the other Bergevin leftover crap contracts (Anderson, Gallagher), so no biggie.

I think Monty gets a lot of flack right now which is undeserved. The team is playing like complete dogshit in front of him. Monty was one of the leaders in quality starts % in last few years. He hasn't suddenly regressed

He is what he is. A placeholder for one of the drafted goaltender prospects to take over. That's why they've drafted 4 goalies in the last 2 years.
Always has been a placeholder , If anything Monty did good to secure himself a contract at 1B money , the team defense is atrocious he is basically a human sacrifice right now

Mtl all goalies cumulated saves % 872
Seattle all goalies cumulated saves % of 903
Pens all goalies cumulated saves % of 887
SJ all goalies cumulated saves % of 906

Our poor defense is not an excuse for such a low saves % by our goalies
Our goalies have let in very stoppable shots too often this season, that has to stop

Low danger shots pad the save% stat for SJ and Pitts

Kraken goalies make 5-6M each so it's not comparable.

Montembeault is 18th in league with save percentage at .905%. Average NHL goalie. Considering young defense this season, he's probably better than average overall

Primeau is a much bigger problem. Monty is slightly underperforming
Primeau is terrible -1.5 per game 5v5 vs expected.

We have a 27 years old 6ft4 goalie who is .935 in the A, keep Dobes there so he gets more volume, call up Hughes, send down Primeau.

Primeau doesn’t get claim 100%c, and if he does, who cares
