Player Discussion Sam "Dikembe" Montembeault

I don't see Montembeault in Four Nations Cup. After first 2 or 3 games I thought he was a lock. Hill and Billington better choice. Unless one goes down to injury. Then it's between Montemayor and Skinner

The "competition" for Canada's goalies has been disgusting so far this season. Out of the top 5 guys usually mentioned before the start of the season (Binnington, Hill, Jarry, Skinner & Montembeault) only Binnington and Monty have save % over .900.

Hill has a .878, Skinner .872 and Jarry has a laughable .836 (despite winning against the Habs). Another guy who I thought might be a darkhorse in Connor Ingram has a .868 save %.

With all the other guys struggling I think Montembeault still has a solid chance to be in the top 3 if he has a strong November. Also Talbot has been consistent so he's likely playing himself into the mix.

The state of Canadian goaltending is sickening and needs federal intervention

It's down league wide though. I did little research. Save percentage this season .897%. lowest it's been since 1993-94. Around 31 years ago.

This is very very very sad goalie landscape for Canada. You know, we used to he Roy, Brodeur, Price... and now? Bleah.

Eddie ****ing Belfour in plain clothes as the #3 in 2002. Luongo coming off the bench ice cold for Brodeur in the 2004 World Cup semis. It is sad, man

Hard to believe same guy who stood on his head against Toronto and Ottawa
Not really. Average to just slightly above average athletes, in all sports, are not able to consistently maintain the highest level of performance. That's what makes them not quite elite.
