Even for HFBoards, this is strange take. Its not just the stats that have been improving over this run, his impacts have improved too. Players also don't finish developing at 19. If they did then Suzuki and Caufield would only be AHL caliber players.

He's done nothing to warrant a massive contract in salary and term one year before his ELC even expires. Call out the crazy contract overreactions for sure, but this is an over-correction in the extreme.

Maybe I am overcompensating tbh it's entirely possible, I am a Canadiens fan, i've been hurt

I haven't seen anyone progress past 20 year old in my life time on this shit team so
EDIT: except for my baby boy carey price

When I say as little as possible, I don’t mean playing hardball. I just mean get the best deal that’s acceptable to both sides.

I’m not suggesting we do to him what MB did with Subban. That was lunacy.

I just think that if you wait until the end of next year he’ll be worth way more. So pay him a little more ahead of time. Get him signed for 8 years.
If he’s willing to be locked up long term after this season for like 7 per, absolutely do it.

Thought all the calls were pretty shit against him tonight.. he was playing a good game until the 2nd call then I think he kind of lost focus a bit there.
He wasn't even that bad , Refs scummed him on two of the calls imo. Caufield and Matheson had an absolute tank night of a game.

When Arber gets going and Slaf is on the ice he feels invincible and see's all red haha , he might have to tone it down if he's gonna be playing 18+ a night , but he's gonna learn when to pick his spots and control his emotions with experience

I loved his intensity tonight, minus the penalty of course. We have a hell of a player in our hands
He clearly hates losing , also puts a lot of accountability on himself. Not bad traits to have

I love it when Xhekaj is out there with our top line. It's not an accident things open up a bit for our forward group.
There were a number of times Arber got the play moving the other way with his legs his vision and his relatively good first pass.

he played a good game, set up a breakaway and easy tap-ins that were missed.
it's such a weird instinct to rush here to gloat over a game where he went pointless. what's the point of being a fan? are you watching these games?

Idk I was told it wasn't a hot streak he was comparable to Jagr, sorry for being a bad fan i'll put my car flag back up go habs go
