For all the shit we heard about 2022 being a weak draft and Slaf not being 1st overall quality.

Am i the only one who feel lucky we got him? From the last 5 draft (2019-2023).

Only Jack Hughes and Connor Bedard are the obvious above him. Stutzle i concede too since he had a 90 points season in his D+3 but aside from them... Winning the 1st in 2020, 2021 or any other picks in 2022 which we had 75% chance to would have been worst than Slaf imo. Owen Power is pretty nice tho. Carlsson and Fantilli are still up for debate and still have times ahead of them but assuming what we see is the beginning of Slaf explosion, they will have to take a massive step too

What a stud!! Most interesting thing for me is that he's steadily improving in all facets of the game. He's getting better in all three zones, carries the puck a little more, good on the half boards, puck protection, body positioning, playmaking. His IQ is even higher that I originally thought.

You know what's nice? I published my list before the draft and made hundreds of posts in the draft threads.
Nevermind what you said before he was drafted.

Let's revisit what you've said AFTER.
Not that we should care about what you think mr "wait and see".
Don't make me pull out some quotes man…don’t make me do this to you .

new rule, if you gonna post an image, you gotta give a description of it, cause I can't see most of them, damnit.

BTW - you call me Mr "wait and see", ignoring that from the beginning I've maintained that the NHL was the best environment for him to develop in and that fans, like you, were way too premature in calling him a bust (which you did).

But i'd rather be that guy...than be the guy who has basically said everything under the sun about him.

Pre-draft you said he'd be the best player from the 2022 draft.
Then you said post draft that he wasn't looking like the right pick on draft day and also said that was the case on draft day (basically contradicting your previous claim).
You also stated that your pick at the 2022 draft was Shane Wright
Then this summer you claimed that Slafkovsky wasn't even good enough for the AHL, nevermind the NHL
Then you claimed he was busting
You were also the birther of the "Slafkovsky has low IQ theory".

But now you're here pumping your chest because you had him 1st on your "pre-draft list"? I was just having some fun with you, but now you're feeling froggish? lol

Well i'd definitely rather be Mr. "wait and see" than Mr. "throw shit against the wall hoping some of it sticks".

Hey, in november he said Roy was better than Slaf. Ça ne s'invente pas. But to his defense, he was one of too many posters thinking that.

The organisation was wrong and had the wrong player in the AHL apparently.

Yup.

Ceiling is higher than most realize. One step at a time, but if he keeps his focus in the right place, his peak is going to be something special.

Fun fact, Leo Carlsson and Slaf are both 19 years old right now. Only 9 months apart or so. Great to see his development progressing like this right now. Very promising. If he can reach his potential, we will have a very powerful dominant 200ft powerforward in the future.

I think I heard about a weekend training with him taking like 600 shots at the net, which is where his newfound mean-ass wrister seems to have come from. Gotta say I can't complain.

Slaf has low IQ, hell always have low IQ. It doesnt mean he cant be an awesome player.

I also never said he was busting.

You have a very questionable understanding, or interpretation of "hockey IQ" if that's your assessment.
Low iq may be an understatement if you consider the whole league, this I can agree. Average or below average may be more adequate.

Anyway, we dont need Slaf to have high IQ, thats not why he was drafted. He was drafted because he was designed in a lab. His physical tools are literally all turned up to 11, hes like Mackinnon who also has the same traits, who I also would consider to have low relative IQ.

Slaf is so poise with the puck, reminds me of Pete Mahovlich but quicker faster stronger and with a better shot, so fun to watch, could be a great centre
