Slaf seems to be St-Louis's pet project and they seem to be training him in an Ivan Drago-like manner.

Works for me.

What would people be happy with in terms of point total this year? 40 for me would be fine.
I'd be okay with 40. It would require a somewhat cooling off, from his current pace, which would be okay with me, as long as his confidence stays high, and he keeps contributing in other ways. Like if he starts to get snake bit a little. We will see the talent, but the stats won't follow. 11 pts in 28 games. A bit of a letdown, but it won't cool my optimism.

I think he has a realistic shot at 20g+30a which would require a continuation of his 25ish game current pace. 21 pts in last 28 games. Not out of the question.

A 25g+35a final tally would be the gold standard. A continuation of the last 7 game pace. 31 pts in last 28 games. Irrefutable future franchise superstar status. Bring HF main boards to its knees.

40, 50 or 60 I am still sold on this kid

Back in November, this thread decided that 30 pts this season would be a success.
Now I see that the goal has moved to 40 pts.

I'm expecting people to be talking of 50 pts soon* unless his production regress a lot since going back to January production rate (0.53) for the rest of the season brings him to 43-44 pts.

*and looks like this post was even late.

I went up to 60! Give him another 3 point night tonight and the goal posts will go to 60 for sure!

It's going to be somewhere between 40* to 80** points.

* his ppg needs to regress a lot to get there since his February ppg is so high.
** need to keep his current 1.8 ppg since the All-Star for the rest of the season which is peak McDavid production level.

I think 45 points would be pretty good. He’d need 16 points in his last 28 games.

If he keeps having 2 points nights regularly he might get to 50 points.

Just imagine if he didn’t only get 2 points in his first 15 games, we’d talk about 60 points right now probably.

What? You had him ranked 5th, I remember that because you kept saying it.
6th actually, but my description was pretty much "listen he has a lot of things to work on but he has the highest potential "

I didn't trust HuGo but i gotta say they did well I think.

I like what Slaf is doing. And the following situation that I'm going to mention is totally different, but remember when Chucky scored 30 goals, going on a tear when we were clearly out of the playoffs?

I think Slaf will turn into a core piece. In fact as of this last streak, until proven otherwise, he already is. And I'm curious to see just how good he will be. But of course I want to see it over a full season, for multiple seasons.

The thing is, it took a while MSL to trust him. I was ready to give Slaf more of a role and more minutes in the top 6 and on the pp much sooner. I mention this because in the end Slaf got the opportunity, and I want to see Ylonen get more of an opportunity to see what he can become. He definitely won't be Slaf. But I want to see him on a line with good offensive players for an extended period of time - especially over the likes of Armia, Pearson, and Gallgher.

30 was my magic number, too – a low bar for a kid who didn't look good the first couple of weeks. I knew he'd develop... eventually... so I was willing to write off this season as part of his learning curve.

But wow.... now 40 points feels like we're underselling him. I'm almost hoping he cools off, just so we can see how he handles it. Let him shrug off a few games where the puck doesn't go his way (again) and finish the season with 45-points. That would be a big success, given his slow start. If he simply refuses to cool off and ends with 50 points... well... I'll try not to be upset.

If the bolded happens. Even 60 is in reach. I said it earlier. Im happy with anything above 40 this season. 28 games to go. Going to be fun to watch!

No matter how many points Slafgreatsky get until the end of the season, I'm a whole lot more interested about next season.

He's far from being done progressing, actually, this is only the beginning
Slaf's current production has been responsible for the guys on the main board eating crow and deleting their accounts!! LOL

Guys, just for the fun of it...Richer's prime.

Look at the 15th seconds mark and at 10 minutes 12 seconds.

I always said that Richer was the second most spectacular player in the Habs history.. after Lafleur and before Subban and Kovalev.
Look at his speed power

If he ends up with 50 points, he actually cooled off from his February current production.

Friends -- I regret to inform you Hockey DB Wheeler found our cheering offensive and embarrassing so he had to pick on whoever this fella is. Thankfully, Wheeler is and always will be a hockey db scout so its best to ignore his drunk ramblings and I am only posting this to make fun of him.

I expect this kind of tweet from a random guy on Twitter. Not someone who is paid to write for a major sports news outlet. Really disappointing to see someone generalize an entire fan base based on one tweet, thats just not professional.

Can I make things any worse? Slaf has 2 points more than Fantilli who was a /2022 if he was born a couple of weeks earlier. They were born 6 months apart. Don’t thank me. 😃
